From day one on the Genesis, I've never understood what anyone has seen in that series and the Adventure games were even worse. The only pleasure I take from seeing the games resurface every now and then is watching everyone get their hopes up only to be kicked in the balls yet again....for the umpteenth time.
Judging by the screenshot comparison, it looks like these are indeed PS360 shots/ videos, but the Wii might be the lead platform. That would explain the reduction in polycount, lower res textures, and the removal of effects like normal mapping compared to Sonic the Hedgehog.

That's only true if you're talking about the first level of each of the Genesis Sonic titles or the entire Sonic Rush series. It's true that they had a huge emphasis on speed, but the original Sonic games (especially 3 & Knuckles) were platformers at heart -- only difference is that they focused more on running than jumping. The spinball physics were also a lot of fun to play around with. Calling them "passive speed demos" is ridiculous.

+ The game shares elements with SatSR (whether it's on rails is still not known). 360/PS3 (Wii unconfirmed lol).
+ All the levels have brief 2.5D platforming bits.
+ Seems like Sonic is the only playable character.

If that clip is any indication, the player doesn't need to know what's coming. The game plays itself.
