Title: Is it worth it to buy a cheat device? (PS2)
Post by: Powerslave on March 29, 2008, 02:52:53 AM
The likes of Action Replay and Xploder. Going by the thread I made earlier about the San Andreas pics, it looks like I need one of these things to transfer my PS2 savefile to my PC.

(Unless of course someone knows another way of doing this without having to purchase this (can I pirate these cheat discs? :shh ))

Besides that, are these things worth it? I had an Xplorer cheat device for the PS1 and there were some crazy cheats on that thing that altered the entire gameplay. Anyone have experiences with the PS2 ones?

I've never used cheat devices.  They never appealed to me.

You can do some pretty amazing stuff with them. It's all supposed to be for fun, after you have beaten a game etc. For example, there was a code for Tomb Raider 3 which let you climb every wall in the game. I always loved those kind of weird cheats.

There's no way to use some software to access the data using one of those PS3 memory card adapters? Don't people transfer PS1 game saves to their PSP, or is it totally incompatible?

The adapter is only $15 though, you can just get one.

I went to hook it up to my computer to see what showed up, but I realized I don't have it here :( sry
