Never played the genre before. What can I expect? Word of the mouth says Shiren is the way to go. Your opinions?

on DS

Shiren: The most hardcore and probably the best
Pokemon Dungeon Games: Good entry points, focus more on story and less on gameplay. Still fun.
Izuna: Doesnt focus on story almost at all but has better gameplay than the Pokemon games but not as hardcore as Shiren.

I dont have much experience with roguelikes outside of that.

Izuna doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere and I'm not touching Pokemon. Guess Shiren it is!

I would so get that, especially for only $10, but my PS2 has been broken for some time now
