My gamerscore is not even 5k, but I play a lot of 360 games and arcade as well.
I finally beat gears of war a few days ago.
I have only beaten that, Halo1, Tomb Raider on 360(because I rented it and I really enjoyed it and wanted to beat it before I returned it), and maybe a handful in the past generation.
I only play games in 20 minute spurts. If I have a marathon gaming session it has to be a game that is tailored to ADD'ers, ie, it has to keep throwing shit at me to keep me interested(civilization, oblivion,gta/saintsrow)
DS is my perfect console, play for 20 mins before I go to bed, or play for 20 minutes during the weekend and I'm happy. Once I hit that 'sweet spot moment' where I accomplish something in the game I'm happy.
Same thing with checkpoints in a game, if I hit that one checkpoint I'm content and I put down COD4.
Online gaming is more desirable, I used to play a shiton of Everquest just because it was ever changing with people to chat with.
I have no idea how Demi does it, our brains are obviously from different make and model....

I was for a long time, until I got pissed at myself for it and stopped buying games sometime after Christmas 04. Then DS sort of revitalized my game purchasing and I completed the majority of the games I bought, and then 360 followed that up.
My list of uncompleted games for PS2 is embarassing. Now I'm more careful.

i am on a "yen diet" right now so i have to stop buying games like they are going out of fashion. This has been in force for the last 4 weeks or so.
As a result, my usual ADD tendencies seem to have vanished and i've started having long gaming sessions on single games.
I tend to hold of on impulse purchases as well, but I still find I have no desire to get more than a bitesized gameplay chunk. Even when I spend the whole day gaming... i just jump from game to game.
-
don't look at me, i've got my own share of games unfinished and untouched
-
if a game is great and if it has a good atmosphere, then it's a pleasure to sit many hours in front of the screen with a gamepad in my hands
if however a game is mediocre or overly tedious, then it's simply not worth completing, just backlog it without shame and move onto something else

A game has to be really good (or short) for me to finish it now. Sometimes it just feels like a hassle to turn a game on...that's when I know I'm done with it.

same.
But shockingly, no. I just take an obscene amount of time to make any progress with games. You should see my halo 3 saved films, I spend 10-15 minutes in practically every room running around punching anything that moves, shooting computer screens, staring at puddles, and zooming in on scenery. With action games I run around in cleared areas practicing moves into thin air like a jackass.
All of this accounts for half the # of hours it takes me to beat SP. It took me 2 months to finish COD4.

yes, wild arms xf is much better suited for you, as are disgaea and even jeanne d'arc. fft is an overrated cumbersome turd of a srpg dinosaur.

I was mislead into thinking FFT was going to be supremely awesome. In reality, I couldn't stand it. Too slow (by srpg standards) and the sound effects made me want to cut myself despite the nice music.
the psp version is garbage anyway. hack that and plop the psx iso on there

Maybe I should buy Joanne D'arc, I have jack shit to buy between now and the 28th.

This isn't about Advanced Dungeons and Dragons?
Thread fails!

btw - try using www.backloggery.com to show yourself just how stupid your purchases are. It kept me off Turok :)
