Due to a weird amazon.com shipping mistake, I ended up with two copies of Jason's "Hey, Wait..." an excellent if incredibly depressing comic about how a childhood tragedy haunts a man for his entire life.

Anyways, I want to give it away to the Most Deserving Person on Evilbore, but I'm not sure how to determine that. I thought about holding a contest about the most tragic childhood, but that seems super depressing, super fast. So instead, I'll ask people to talk about their favorite comic (and why!), and whoever has the best answer will get "Hey, Wait..." sent to them in the mail, post-posthaste.

GIVE NOW
I LOVE JASON
-
at least make a token effort to enter my contest!
I've read this, I Killed Adolf Hitler, and Why Are You Doing This? The last one there was my favorite. Really, I need to just buy all his shit, it's not like it's ever anything less than stupendous.
-
OMG there's a new Jason!

-
Okay, I just bought: The Left Bank Gang, The Last Musketeer, The Living and the Dead, and You Can't Get There From Here.
THIS THREAD HAS BACKFIRED
instead of giving away Jason, I am buying more Jason!
-
I read whatever comics I've shown and I read them because they make me giggle and pass the time.
I'll be taking your extra copy off your hands now. Not to mention, you missed dinner with me. You owe me
-
Give to me, I'm still working from yesterday.
childhood tragedy, Genghis
I'm debating if I should give it to Eric P who loves Jason, or to someone like Genghis, who doesn't know Jason and would benefit from the exposure. Or to Mupepe, who gives great backrubs. :-*
-
i once saw a dude named Jason naked as a kid
very traumatizing and it is the reason why i am gay

Well if it makes you feel any better, I generally work 7 days a week and I don't know Jason either and would benefit from the exposure.
So I have all my features (great back rubs, personality, great listener, etc) with all of Genghis deficiencies features too.

My favorite comic was X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, although I eventually had to hide them because my mom would make me cut the big boobed women out of the panels. :'(
I read comics for most of my young life, but I didn't start actually buying them until the Onslaught arc, which was awesome to me at the time. It was a pretty ingenious gateway arc for newcomers considering you had to buy various comic books just to keep up with the story line. So I started getting Cable stuff, Avengers, Spiderman, etc, but once the Onslaught thing was over I only bought X-Men and Uncanny X-Men stuff.
I liked X-Men because it reminded me of myself. I was pretty quiet as a kid, didn't really fit in well with everyone, so the idea of people having mutant powers always captivated me, even later in life with Harry Potter. My favorite was (obviously) Wolverine; hell if someone asked me who my favorite super hero is today, I'd still say Wolverine. In the middle/late 90s comics he was definitely the outcast of the group, constantly either quitting the team or going on Rambo missions by himself.
I stopped reading comics shortly after the first X-Men movie came out. While I thought the movie was ok, I hated the way it effected the comic. Obviously a lot of new people were exposed to the comic through the film, and it seemed like Marvel took that as an excuse to really dumb down the quality of the prose/stuff in general. This was all prefaced by the return of Chris Claremont. So now I had to read villians explaining what they were going to do....before they did it. And each X-Men constantly telling me what his/her powers were ugh.
After a few of those early Claremont issues in 2000 I quit
-
um, Morrison's New X-Men run was around the time of the movie release
fail
-
:rofl :rofl
seems like Mupepe is in the lead!

wtf the X-Men movie came out in 2000, two years before New X-Men. Claremont came back to the series in 2000, at which point I quit
-
I lost interest in comics. It's not like I want to win this contest, I am sharing my life with you guys for free
I've heard good things about Morrison, but I haven't really thought about re-entering the comic realm. Civil War kinda tempted me initially, but the more I heard about it the dumber it sounded
-
I read part of the civil war stuff. It just made me hate spiderman
-
that's cause Civil War is distinguished mentally-challenged
how about instead of reading distinguished mentally-challenged comics, you read Morrison

I think the important thing in this thread is that your mom made you cut out all the big titties from your comics. WTF? Why? Was it to stop you from jerking it to your make believe comics, or because if showed women as objects? Did she have a little locked drawer where she kept her boob stash? And why make you cut them out and not her? Did this add to the ritual?
-
I have never owned a comic made by anybody outside of Japan or Korea.
-
Why even read superhero comics if you have to cut out the giant titties? What's the fucking point?
-
It only happened a for like 4 issues. By then I started hiding them under the bed, where I also hid her illustrated breast exam book :bow
-
I have never owned a comic that wasn't originally right-to-left and made for Japan, except for King Hell and possibly GiTS (thanks prole).
-
words can not describe the cringes in my face. Why not jack it to the underwear girls in a walmart flyer.
-
Favorite comic: Batman.
Because he kicks ass.
-
Walmart :yuck
I used to wank to the beauty of the month in Jet magazines

Clearly, she was training him to be a boob-slashing serial murderer. The code of Harry endures! Except...PD can only prey on fellow super-powered mutants!
-
so who won?

After much debate, I have decided to send it to Genghis, as he's having the shittiest week right now and is not already familiar with Jason's work. Plus, maybe if I send it to him, I can guilt him into finally reviewing Light. Sorry, Mups. :( (And Eric P. But not sorry to PD.)
-
It's all good. I'll suck Genghis off and get it after he's done with it.
-
sounds good, just make sure to place the comic far away enough that the pages don't get sticky
-
we wanted to read it while i did it though :(
-
THAT IS SO KINKSY
-
i'll visit texas so we can read it together mups :-[
