i can pull off the #2 buzz cut, but i don't think i could pull off being bald :'(
-
Hahahaa Chipopo is balding :rofl
-
You just need a collection of fancy hats.
-
I looooooove bald guys. I don't care if you're going bald, or just shave it. You're sexy.
-
Guys with some body mass almost always look decent with shaved heads. It's the thin guys that have problems -- it's difficult to pull off the look without appearing sickly. :(
Although you might be able to get some sympathy dates out of it.
-
I always viewed baldness as an evolutionary mechanism to force men into mating more frequently (at a younger age) than they normally would.
Your hairline represents your virility clock, and it is slowly winding down.
Tick tock, Tick tock. Better go out to the bars tonight before time runs out ...
-
Having a bald patch might not be trendy, but having a shaved head (whether because you're balding or otherwise) is cool isn't it?
Isn't it?
Although I agree with RoboJ's point about skinny guys - maybe it's harder to pull off.
-
My cousin began balding around 21.
-
right after the semester ends, i'm going to shave my head for the summer.

Don't do this if you're 250+ pounds. Every obese bald white guy looks like a pedo/rapist/nazi.
-
A cleanly shaven head and a rugged beard is were it's at. At least that's what I sport.
-
Facial hair is important when compensating for thinning hair
-
Like I've told other guys here with the same problem, get Propecia/Proscar as soon as possible. You can add Rogaine later on but if you want to keep your hair, it's imperative that you start on Propecia soon.
Propecia can do wonders for guys who just start losing their hair, especially if they're younger than 25. Sometimes, Propecia can bring them all back and keep the hairloss away for at least 10 more yrs.

Some bald dudes look cool.

I really don't believe that you can convince someone to be happy with being bald. You either mind or you don't. Nothing anyone says can
really change that. Medical knowledge have improved so much that I don't think any man should just accept his balding fate. Medical
therapy is often enough to make a difference and if it doesn't, surgical procedures can always be considered. Hair transplanting has come
a long way. Most of the time, it's impossible to tell that someone has gotten transplants.
-
yeah, but hair transplant costs like 5000 bucks. Plus all your friends know.

How old are you? If you are younger than 30, I wouldn't recommend transplants until you've tried at least a year with Rogaine & Propecia.
If you do decide to get transplants eventually, don't be worried that your friends would know. They are surprisngly undetectable with modern procedures.
It takes awhile for the hair to grow out so most people just notice that the patient looks subtly different when the hair grows out.

I'm 20 8)
I'm actually about 3 months in on a propecia treatment, no change so far...
-
If you're already starting to go bald at twenty, there really isn't any hope.
-
I think Chipopo is a pretty cool guy, eh is BALDING AT THE AGE OF 20 and doesnt afraid of anything

It usually takes at least 3 months before you see any regrowth. Even if you don't see any regrowth, you should keep on it. Propecia will slow down further hair loss.
If you haven't tried Rogaine, then wait a couple of more months so that you can see if any regrowth is due to Propecia alone.
Also, in a few months, compare yourself to photos taken before the Propecia treatment. Even transplant patients often don't see the huge differences after procedues because they see themselves everyday.

the black people thing is true--i have yet to see a bald black guy who couldn't pull it off
:bow brothas :bow2

Not true. Propecia has been a savior for many young balding men. The only problem is most guys don't know about it until it's too late. Follicles are beyond repair in 3-5 years after their initial shrinkages and hair loss.
-
Smooth Groove sure does know a lot about Propercia/balding...
and he's never posting his picture either...
:o

I know many that men have had positive results with Propecia. But not all. And how many of those men already started going bald at 20?

They mentioned it a lot while teaching Endicrinology and again in Dermatology. It's one of the most common hormonal therapies. The funny thing is that Propecia was initially used to treat enlarged prostates.

Just because someone starts losing hair earlier, it doesn't mean that he'll lose more hair. The timing and amount of hair loss all depend on the person's genetic makeup.
As far as I know, Propecia is far more effective at retaining current hair then regrowing hair. But the earlier a patient starts on the drug, the higher his chances of regrowth are.
Of course, each patient's response to Propecia is also dependent on his genes.

I'm 27 and I am not bald, yet. My hairline is a little higher than it was when I was as teenager, though. Now if you want to talk about graying hair...
