Title: Post your current backlog.
Post by: Rman on April 07, 2008, 01:29:16 AM
I know some of you have backlogs going back to the 80s.  Let's just focus on this generation--I'll count PS2 since it is still very active--and on games you actually want to play to satisfaction not to completion to make it simple or whatever criteria you choose.  Most of the games I play until I complete them, whether that's beating the final level, race, track, or boss.  I gave up on 100 percent completion a long time ago.

I love fighters but I play them with friends constantly and there is nothing to complete obviously, unless you prefer playing single player modes.  My backlog has just been growing and growing.  I'll probably never finish it.  Maybe during the summer months when game releases tend to slow down.

360:
Shivering Isles - Complete
Portal - Complete
CO4- Complele on the default difficulty
Halo 3 Complete on Legendary
Rockband - Complete World Tour and individual instruments
Lost Odyssey - Completion
Burnout Paradise - Elite license
N+ - Complete al 50 single player levels

P33
Hot Shots Golf 5 - Unlock everything.  Long term project for those familiar with the series
Resistance -Complete once
Ratchet - Complete once

Wii
No More Heroes - Complete
Zack and Wiki - Complete

PS2
FF12 - Complete
Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria - Complete

For my portables I just play the games to completion.  I will play the additional difficulties for Ninja Gaiden DS, though.

PSP
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
Ultimate Ghouls and Ghosts
FF: CC
God of War: COO
Wild Arms: XF

DS
Phantom Hourglass
Ace Attorney 5
Ninja Gaiden DS
Bangai-O
Space Invaders Extreme

Going on my current pace I'll probably only complete a third of that list.

I started typing and it was already too long

40-60 odd titles spanning my Dreamcast, PS1/2, GBA, DS, GCN, and Wii collection.  My PS3 has no backlog, only because I've only got two games for it.

That depends. Do you consider backlog to be games that I own and haven't beat, or games that I'm actually likely to beat someday? Because that's a huge difference.

You should put in a few more completed PS3 titles to make your trolls more legit.

I speak only truf, PS3 lacks games. Backloggery provides a chilling reminder to all.

That could be your choice.  I limited it to this gen, ps2 included.

Use my site Rman. It's like having Achievements for non-360 games. I started beating way more games when I started using that bitch.

Yeah looks cool.  Much easier to keep track.  I like that it gives you the option of abandoning games.

Too many.

Right now though I'm finishing up Assassin's Creed - last mission.  I really hadn't touched it since I bought it back in November and I didn't care for it too much then but I was foolin' around with the new TV and popped that back in and kinda got sucked into it.  It can still get boring as all hell but it has its moments - like fighting the guards at the enterance to Akre right after I learned the counter skill.  Felt like straight out of Braveheart.  Pretty sweet.  Plus the game looks a whole hell of a lot better on this TV than the one I had it running on in the basement, so it has that going for it too.

Still have to go back and finish Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction which I took another look at recently.  I think I got pretty close to the end last weekend but I had to stop when the work week started.

AC's ending is like a dick in the mouth over and over again.

Yeah looks cool.  Much easier to keep track.  I like that it gives you the option of abandoning games.

It didn't when I first signed up, so when I got around to adding my ancient shit I had like 38% unfinished - I got a lot of those games from my cousin when he was throwing out all his old shit. So then I nulled all those and now the list is useful again.

There are only 2-3 games that I actually paid for and tried to play and nulled, like Lost Planet  :-X

Is that the one in the starting area where you fight

spoiler (click to show/hide)
the guys you killed again but they look like ghosts/holograms
[close]

Such a good idea wrapped up in shitty execution and time wasting

Felt like I had to kill 1000 guys just to finish the supposed last assassination in Jerusalem (the one with the woman).  I gotta do that bullshit again (or worse)?  Ugh.

lhe last 1/3 of AC (ending included) was fucking awesome. Top game.

as for my backlog its actually not too bad nowadays:

360:

playing through now -
DMC4
Stanglehold
N+
Condemned

to play-
R6Vegas 1
Blue Dragon (got 7 or so hours in but stopped for some reason, will restart and make sure I dont miss achievements)
Army of 2 (waiting for my friend to buy his fucking copy so I can play it with him)

wanting to replay for achieves-
Eternal Sonata
Bioshock

Wii:

No More Heroes (just gotta beat last boss)

PS2:

Valkyrie Profile 2 (really want to play this more but never find the time or motivation)

DS:

beaten everything I own! Use it to play Slitherlink exclusively now

PSP:

FF2... sort of. Dont really dig it so probably wont finish it

so yeah a pretty manageable backlog. Should be able to get through it all as Im a dirty poor atm and I cant buy games until I start working again... and while Im not working I have tons of time to play games....

You've gotta do that 3x over. It's broken up though.

Finished Assassin's Creed.....WTF is the deal with that ending?  I don't mind having it end with stuff unresolved (gotta make those sequels you know) but just leaving me in the lab with nothing to do - pfft.  That was Halo 2-esque.

Ending was indeed terrible. I also got a serious PoP: SoT vibe from the final boss. It was pretty much the same team who made that game right? These guys sure don't know how to do boss battles. The final hour or so of AC was a mess. Not to mention that I got pretty bored with the game after going through the same gameplay template 9+ times in a row.
