I voted for Halloween 3 since it is the only thing approaching a good movie in the series.  I will be watching There Will be Blood as soon as I finish up watching trashy british dramedies.

Cloverfield > The Mist > The Machinist > Halloween III

Dunno about Dewey Cox, I'm not really into the gay film scene.

You must make a thread for There Will Be Blood.  I hope you love it.  But for some reason, I have a weird feeling you won't.

I'll probably like it.  I love Boogie Nights, sorta like Magnolia, mostly like PDL.  Basically, the less indulgent PTA is, the better the movie he makes.  We'll see how this ranks.

You gotta give Frank Darabont some credit for simultaneously remaking The Thing and The Fog.

I think you'll like it, but I think you'll find it drags at points.  I didn't think it did, but you might be one who can find those flaws better than I can.

The Fog remake is one of the few in my collection that makes me gag a little bit

Cloverfield and HIII were tied when I started, so I went with Cloverfield because I didn't want to take the chance of ruining any childhood nostalgia on a weeknight

I am almost twenty minutes into it, and instead of monsters eating people, i have been subjected to a weird mismash of an episode of friends and an episode of dawson's creek

except none of these characters are likeable or believeable in any way

plus, when you wear a suit, shave

you look like a fucking drunk if you don't

i'm rooting for the monster

Haha, that mirrors like exactly what I said to Willco when I watched it the other night.

every time one of these people opens their mouth i want them to die a little more

i wish this was a silent film

well, maybe a sound effects track

this is the kind of shit that gets a $100+ million budget behind it, and i can't get a story published to save my ass

fuck

I think Cloverfield only cost like $15-20 Mil.

monster parts = okay to good

monster itself = i prefer harryhausen

the gibbering noise those parasites made was straight sampled from a cartoon termite (tom and jerry, i believe), as was the design of the "head" area

dialogue = just awful, and way too much of it

a neat idea with some okay sequences, would have been better in the hands of less vapid filmmakers
