Title: Creating bootable CDs is the devil.
Post by: Ecrofirt on April 10, 2008, 11:53:23 AM
That's it. I've decided it.

We're trying to create a bootable Symantec Ghost CD here at work so we can easily dump Dell's factory hard drive image onto computers that we're returning this summer.

It's been nothing but headaches for us so far.

The main problems stems from the fact that we're trying to also get the Ghost image onto the CD along with the actual Ghost program. It's the fucking devil.

are you expecting the end users to do this work or are you doing it in house?

why not just create a boot usb / ghost cd combo?

We're trying to make the quickest possible solution for blasting Dell's factory image to 300 PCs when our lease runs out in June.

Our plan now is to get some sort of disc that'll have both ghost and the factory image on it, so we can just have our students boot to the CD and select the image from the dropdown in Ghost to begin the blast.
