I saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas last night at the Kentucky Theater in Lexington. I was the first time I'd ever seen the whole thing, and the atmosphere in the theater, what with the fucked up sound and shit, it would have been great.

was bloodwake there?

On my 21st birthday, during the summer. I got high as shit with my friends, and I headed to a theater playing it.
I payed for my ticket, caught the last 20 minutes of it, stayed through the credits and then watched everything up until that point.
I later found out my parents were at that very theater seeing a movie at the same time. awesome time.

No.

The dope fiend's pants will be encrusted with semen stains from constantly jacking off when he can't find a rape victim.

That scene was classic.

That scene was classic.
Yes fantastic homage to Lolita's cop convention scene.
-
Another favorite was at the casino/circus, and also in the hotel bar while they're checking in.
-
Awesome movie. And as an added bonus, Hunter S. Thompson's DVD commentary for the movie is almost as crazy and fucked up as the movie itself.
-
Seeing Fear and Loathing without being on anything? Fuck-ing fail.
Hilarious movie. My favorite bit was Hunter taking bumps off a hunting knife.

Fuck you, I'm not an art school student. My drug options are fucking limited by that. And I have time to drive all the way to Mercer county. Only thing you can buy around here (WHIRLIN STERLIN) with any regularity is Oxycontin, Bathtub Meth, or real low grade schwag. All the dudes selling in the UK dorms were out partying themselves.

Have you ever been to the Kentucky Theater?

Why did you pick Lobotomized CS as your major in the first place, anyway?
-
Networking, NOT CS.
And the reason was that I suck too bad at math to do programming, and I'm too awful at writing papers to take up liberal arts.
-
math and writing are fundamental to all worthwhile human endeavor. you probably just haven't found the right teacher.
-
The weird thing is, I beat the absolute breaks off of most everybody in my "technical" classes at writing, but not to the level of a proficient liberal arts major. But I'm far better at the technical stuff than most of those people. But both of those people are better than me at what they do. I'm a man in the middle.

Have you ever been to the Kentucky Theater?
Yes. It's amazing. I love the theatre.
Basically, it's an older theater (like almost silent era) that's been renovated and redone so it can be used for drama as well as film. In addition to that, they basically only show older films that are classic or newer, independent films. It was the first place to my knowledge in Kentucky to get There Will Be Blood as well as No Country for Old Men. I haven't been since April though :(
If I had a car at Berea, I would be a frequent patron. I meant to go more often during the summer but they really didn't show anything (other than Rear Window) that I really wanted to watch.

I've been more than a dozen times, with my favorite being seeing Chuck Palahniuk, when I wasn't very familiar with his work. I was like, who is this well-kept guy onstage?
3 hours later, I was like holy shit I wasn't expecting that.
