-
I am having chicken noodle soup, aka the greatest food of all time.

Guys I'm serious. It was so authentic I had to put on a top hat and three piece suit just to feel worthy
Usually my mom makes her spaghetti with ground chuck; it's much healthier than ground beef but imo it's not good in spaghetti, and REALLY sucks in left over servings. Well this time she used italian sausage and omg it was amazing. The meat was perfectly cooked, so juicy. omg

Making your own sauce it the key to a good tomato based pasta. Store bought shit uses sugar to sweeten the sauce :yuck

True dat. I make awesome italian dishes because of my sauces.
-
qft. Spaghetti is one of the only foods I'm rather picky about. Canned sauce can ruin even the best cooked meat, especially when you can realllly taste the sugar. Leftovers then wind up being extremely dry and shitty :-X

Prego :yuck
Do you also add a bit of pasta water, Cohen. It adds great flavor.
-
It's very versatile.
For pasta I like simple preparations: evoo, butter, parm and parsley with linguine and I'm in heaven.

PD - that sounds almost exactly like this thing I made a few weeks back. Fresh papardelle pasta, home-made tomato sauce, salami, bell peppers. Takes about 10 mins once you have the sauce ready (i make it in huge batches every couple of weeks)

Here's some fresh tomato, olive oil and basil dressing I made for pasta and bruschetta a while ago. TASTY.

Sorry PD, I'm inclined to not believe you. My best friend's mother makes the best spaghetti ever tasted. :hyper
-
Sausage? Meh thick bacon/Pancetta is soo much better than sausage on tomato based pasta.
-
I make spaghetti with cut up pieces of grilled chicken instead of italian sausage. Very tasty.
