Title: Asus Eee-PC 900 - I must have it

I thought the original Eee-PC was awesome, but this is even better. 20gb HD (12gb if you want Windows XP), 1gb RAM, awesome 9" screen. This would be perfect for me for work.

It's certainly better than this piece of garbage.

Asus products have been looking pretty good lately.  How are their reputation for reliability?  I've never bought anything from Asus other than motherboards.  Those MBs were excellent bu I stopped buying them because Asus doesn't have as good US support as EVGA.

How much is this PC in dollars?  Seems more attractive than the MacBook Air, features and price-wise.  Although it looks like a bigger version of the DS Lite when folded up.

Yes, but the gap is barely perceptible.  Tauntaun's CPU is theoretically more overclockable but Intel purposely did some stuff to hold it back.

Just get the cheaper one at Fry's since you aren't going to be using the fastest GPU setup anyways.

But 12MB of Cache makes my DICK.SO.HARD!  :hurr :hurr :hurr

Well, Q9450 is obviously better since it costs twice as much.  It's gonna run much cooler and therefore have higher overclock potential.  But if you don't overclock, the Q9450's not that much faster than a Q6600.  Also, the Q9450 is a bit complicated to OC and Demi probably won't bother.  The Q6600 is a good match for the other components that he'll be getting.  There's no need to get a high end CPU unless the GPU is high end as well.

I'm waiting for the Dell mini-notebook myself. I've had Dells for the past few years, and I like them a lot. Besides, the Dell mini-notebook is supposed to have that new Intel chip that should blow the HP and EEE out of the water in performance and portability.  :-*

What motherboard and ram are you getting or using?  Honestly, I think you'll be better off getting the Q6600 and spending the extra money on a pair of 8800 GTS 512.  Most games require GPU power more than CPU power.

You aren't going to see much difference in speed between the Q6600 and Q9450 at stock speed.  The main benefit of the Q9450 is that it runs cooler but NY is pretty cold most of the time.

Like I said before, the Q9450 is more theoretically more overclockable but Intel gimped it with a lower multiplier which means you would also need a motherboard that is capable of very high FSBs.
