UPDATE: The comments section on that article has turned into a GIGANTIC reunion/fight/clarification of all the original Infocom implementors, Douglas Adams' collaborators, IF historians and authors of modern IF. It is quite literally unbelievable to anyone like myself who is an Infocom fan.

From the comments, one of the former Infocom authors makes an impromptu transcript from a game about the bar near the Infocom campus:

RESTAURANT
You are in a restaurant decorated with monstrous amorphous Polynesian imagery. Around you are several hundred diners.

>X DINERS

Some of them are on the floor. Some of them are on fire.

A waiter brings you a drink.

>X DRINK
You do not want to examine the drink.

>SMELL DRINK
There is a crisp and noisome odour as your nose-hairs ignite.

>EXTINGUISH DRINK
You cannot extinguish the drink.

>DRINK DRINK
You take a sip.

>G
Yuo take anohter sip.

>G

Uoy tkae a thrid spi of teh dnirk. Teh room wihrls ruond. Yuo flal to teh foloor.

>G
You see no drink here. You have not died. You wish you had died.

Wow, I considered Hitchiker's Guide to be one of the best Text Based Adventure Games (TBAG) ever made. I need to play this stat!

That's pretty amazing. Too bad he couldn't have leaked the whole Infocom Drive though.  :)

Heh, good luck with that. It's not only one of the best texty games but also one of the most difficult.

You score points for this solution, but it is the wrong one. In fact, the winning score is 470 out of 490; if you get ALL the points, you lose.

I saw that. It sounded pretty hot but...2GB download and it's all in German!  :lol :-\ Maybe it'll get translated eventually.
