Title: My month of gaming mediocrity continues...
Post by: AdmiralViscen on April 21, 2008, 06:11:42 PM
I've dumped CV:LoI for now, in favor of Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time lol. I'm about 3 hours in, just got the second shard, so I guess it's as short as I've heard. It's decent fun, better than LoI at least. They didn't go as overboard with the 4 characters as I was worried about.

I also bought RCR on VC today  :-\

It's worth paying $5 for RCR on VC just so you can play on a TV set and not have to deal with those obscenely long passwords. I have the cart and may shell out for it anyway.  :-[

Yea, but VC itself is mediocre.

I don't actually own the cart and multi can be annoying on the laptop, so I went for it.

VC fucking sucks. It was pretty good for a while. But then its been left to the side. Nintendo needs to fire the people behind it get new people like Microsoft did with XBLA a year back

No. I stopped playing it shortly after I talked about it here. I'll probably pick it up again over summer or something. It wasn't terrible, it's just sorta dullsville. I didn't get that far.

How's the music in the M&L games?  Similar to the original Mario RPG?  I like Shimomura

Partners in Time is awful, how they came up with that after the sexalicious Superstar Saga is beyond me

how'd they fuck up partners in time? I know Superstar Saga was awesome, but what did they change?

I'm about halfway through now, and its ok. I feel like there's more talking. Though it's been a while since I played the first, so it might be the same amount. But it's certainly less amusing.

It's far mroe linear, it's apparently shorter, and sometimesi the controls are annoying. And the puzzles are simpler, from what I can tell.

In order to use the spin jump, you have to press X to throw the babies off, A to make Mario jump for no reason so you can control him, R to switcch to specials, then B twice to actually perform the move. Stuff like that irritates me. And Select goes unused for some reason.

I was amused by the Bros, but then it went on and on and on like everything else.

I haven't had a problem with enemy HP though.
