I'm gonna go vote here soon. Do that american thing. I wonder how many other brainwashed americans will be doing the same thing today.
I'm voting for Will Federman for California State Governor, he can lead us to the future.
-
Yes, I voted for Ted Strickland.
-
Voted straight party democrat ticket!
GO GRANHOLM
-
I voted in September!*
*Canada
-
So cheebs voted for terrorism? Jk i dont know how i feel about the house and how thats gonna be by the end of the day. It deffinatly paints a picture of whats gonna happen in the next few years. I'm voting for a few demo's for sure here in cali.
-
Yes, I voted for Ted Strickland.
Is he related to Tony Strickland, the guy running for CA comptroller?
-
mailed in my votes. normally i try to examine the issues and do my homework, but this time i said FUCK YOU to the crooked-ass america-hating GOP and went straight-ticket Demon Rat.
-
If I was in California I'd vote third party/write in for Gov purely because the Democrats nominated a ugly rat and Arnold's quick turn to being a moderate was purely to win an election.
-
Drinky supports rats? WTF
Ok time for me to go vote. Lots of No's and just a handful of Yes' I just hope i remember my little cheat sheet.
-
Voted straight party democrat ticket!
GO GRANHOLM
Meh, looks like I'll be doing the same :-\
This will be my first time voting, so I'm kinda nervous. I know where I'm supposed to go, and I have my voter ID card.
-
PD have fun, i remember when i voted. God it was a long time ago it seems. But it was fun. I dont really feel great after going to vote though.
-
They give us cute “I voted today” stickers here.

“And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”—Micah 6:8
Religion out of fucking politics, goddamn >:(

lol
Vote yet? MI closes at 7 PM I think.
-
Not old enough, and why is there a question mark at the end of my tag?
-
Is it because you're asking a question, bitch?
-
Not old enough. :-[
-
lol
Vote yet? MI closes at 7 PM I think.
Not yet; they close at 8pm actually.
I'm going to head out after I get out of class at 5
-
No I didnt, nor will I.

Make sure to vote for Amos Williams!
"Every street is MY office." :lol
-
Alright I'm off to vote. It's raining like shit today, and I'll probably have to stand in a long line. But meh, today could possibly be historic
-
Is it because you're asking a question, bitch?
actually that was just a joke tag I suggested on IRC so it doesn't make sense to have the question mark.
-
I didn't vote. Bleh
Ms. Strayhorn needs to win though
-
i voted
-
Just got back. I fucked up early on and put my new address on the voter application thingie, when I was registered under my previous address. After about 10 minutes they straightened everything out and let me vote.
Overall it was pretty fast. I voted straight ticket, but I also voted for some non-democrats. Like with the school board, I feel it's best to have one Democrat and one Republican instead of two members of the same party. Voted against Prop 2, and for the dove hunting prop because there was some huge hunter outside the building giving out high fives. I gave him a high five lol; kickass.
I voted for Granholm...meh. Honestly I wanted to just write in Amos Williams for governer since he kicks SO MUCH ASS ("every street is my office...bitch") :lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReKa8Xpz2TI
What a badass :lol
-
I voted but i had to use the electronic computer ones. I dont think those things are reliable
-
(http://www.ericalucci.com/storyimg/2004/Oct/voted.jpg)
I read up on the admendments some and then voted straight. I'm tired of my county trying to introduce Creationism as a school subject, so I made sure to vote opposite of the incumbent for those positions. Not that my votes count much though :/ Bible belt state, yay.
-
Heck yes I voted. I'm in Pennsylvania and I voted straight Democrat ticket, but then changed my vote for governor from Rendell (D) to Swann (R) because Rendell has been fucking with the contracts for social service workers/first responders and my dad is a firefigher. Swann lost. That kinda made me sad.
At least we got Rick Santorum the fuck out of there, though. [Sorry, James.]
-
(http://necessaryroughness.org/img/ivoted.jpg)
-
Every single person I voted for lost.
I'm like the Konex of Pennsylvania.
-
You voted for Lynn Swann didn't you?
-
What part of 'everyone lost' didn't you get?
Of course I did. I voted for Santorum as well. The only guy I voted for that won (due to being forced to vote) was some unopposed democrat assclown.
-
JUSTICE! BITCH
-
We got both the house AND the senate this is awesome :lol
-
It's confirmed already? I expect that Virginia election to go into a recount or something; unlike the other Republican Senators, Allen didn't act like concession was on his mind last night, and he promised a fight. We'll see.
I don't know who's more fucked up right now, the Republicans or Sony :lol :lol
-
Dems won both houses?
HIIIIGH FIIIVE! :lol
-

Webb won, it will go into recount but he won with over 8,000 votes. The Senate AND House are Democrat.
HIGH FIVE! :-[

I want Bush to give a speech. I want to see the look of defeat on his face.
-
How does the "election was stolen!" crowd react to this election? This was perhaps the most important election in years, perhaps more so than 2004. And here the Democrats swept the house, and it looks like they got the Senate too. If the election was truly fixed in 2004, what sense would it make not to fix this more important one? All it would take would be some shady shit in Virginia, or OHIO, and bam the Democrats lose their chance at the Senate. But the alleged hijackers must have stayed home last night :lol
-
It is more important than 2004 I feel. If kerry won ohio in 2004 he'd lose in 08. It's like if a Democrat won right before the depression in the 30's. Everything got WORSE after 2004.
And unlike president where control switches often it takes a BIG wave for congress to switch. GOP held on 12 years, Democrats before that held on for 40 years.

Exactly

MSNBC talked to Bob Corker, he seemed to believe the Democrats got the Senate. He was like "Well..THEY DONT HAVE 60!111" :lol

These mid terms restored some of my faith in this country.... just SOME though... and Montgomery County, MD (where I live), elected it's first black county executive... yet only 10% of the population here is black. Ike just really came across as a down to earth guy... of course his opponent had some pretty and nasty negative ads, hopefully people are tired of that shit.
-

Just some? America said NO to Bush and Republicans. I am proud of my country.
I am sad Amos Williams lost in MI though. That guy is awesome. EVERY STREET IS MY OFFICE! Democrats gained control of the state leg. in MI for the first time under Granholm though. She'll get all she wants done unlike her first term.
-
Amos :(
-

I don't know if I'd go that far. People are just disillusioned with the war and the growing scandals, it was bound to take its toll on the party. And the GOP is a party that needed a fair beating to get its act together. In terms of propositions and other important votes where the fate of politicians weren't at play, America was pretty conservative. I mean - holy shit! - just look at the Props that got voted down in California, a notorious Democratic stronghold.
Time for gridlock, though! Yay!

Yeah while I'm happy about the mid-term results there is still a bad taste in my mouth from the last presidential election, but I do feel somewhat better to know that the US voters haven't been completely asleep in the last few years.
Hopefully the dems will actually DO something with their newfound power.
-
I agree. This had little to do with the Democrats and more to do with people's disapproval of Bush and the culture of corruption he has reigned over. He might not have been officially caught up in major corruption per se (in the same way Reagan wasn't at full fault for Iran Contra...lol), but he has sat back and watched his party grow out of control. He's not the same man who ran for president in 2000, and 911 is not the sole reason for that.
His reaction to a Democratic house and (possibly) senate is going to be interesting. He still has time to right some wrongs and go out on a good note in my estimations. In the past Bush was able to waive off critisizm as petty attacks on him from the left; yet this election was a direct reprimand on him. He realizes that, and now the question becomes "what does Bush do now?" He can't strut anymore, and he can't hog the ball now that there's a new ref in the game.
-
Awesome, I'm too tired to form a coherent response at the moment though.
-

Watch cable news at 1 EST. Bush gives a press conference. We'll see if he will be willing to work with them or if he will be stubborn.

Did Bz call Cloudwalking a bitch in the thread title? :o
-
I had to get her attention! lolz
-
of course his opponent had some pretty and nasty negative ads, hopefully people are tired of that shit.
Thats exactly what happened here in Massachusetts
it was Kerry Healey (R) (White) vs. Deval Patrick (Black) (D)
She (Healey) put out attack ads stating that Deval supported "rape" due to helping out an inmate that was charged with rape (or something along those lines). She also put out other ads attacking Deval. On the flip side Deval Patrick probably put out only one ad that was directly aimed at Healey.
In the end, Deval wins due to Healey looking too "hard" and people not liking her ads. Apparently she tried to change up her image and it was (obviously) to late.
-
I had to get her attention! lolz
It's Bz's fault he made the topic. He owes he a apology

Nothing lol. All I did was post some rumor speculation in a Nintendo thread, right before Nintendo World. Apparently a mod couldn't stand it and banned me. It says "don't post in the gaming forum" lol
-
When you return, you should try not posting in the gaming forum. :lol
-
I'll post there just to see what happens. GAF's no fun policy is really turning me off. I love the discussions there, but Christ: why can't people have good clean fun without having to worry about being banned?
-
I've abandoned the gaming forum there.
