Post by: Van Cruncheon on April 24, 2008, 11:04:18 PM: my wife loves the show. i like the barney subplots (cougar ep lol), and there's been some awesome cameos (the dad from malcolm in the middle in a great part) but it's also really formulaic once the clever initial conceit (romance story told in reverse) wears off.

Yeah, it's pretty formulaic at times, but it's hilariously formulaic.

A friend of mine swears by it and lent me the DVD's. I didn't get into it.

It probably depends on your tolerance for the three-camera sitcom format and all the conventions that come with it. Last one I really liked was Newsradio, and NPH is the only person in this cast who's up to that standard.
