Title: Coke out of glass bottles
Post by: AdmiralViscen on April 28, 2008, 12:43:37 AM
I snagged some of these limited edition 1900 Coke bottles, and I like them. The campus store wants a ridiculous $5 for 4 though. Does anyone here buy them regularly? I don't know if it's all in my head but I like them better than cans.

There's nothing different or special about North American Coke in glass bottles. It's the same stuff that comes in cans and plastic bottles. Mexican Coke in glass bottles uses real sugar, however, and is awesome. Costco sells flats of it for $15.

Wait, Costco sells the international stuff nationwide? Where do you live?

And i think cans taste better than plastic. Glass seems to taste more like its from a tap to me.

I'm pretty sure that aluminum imparts a metallic flavour to what it's storing though with Coke it's hard to tell since it's 'strong' with beer usually the last dregs are awful.

Mexico and Canada are both in North America and both have sugar in their coke. ;)

I must investigate this shit.

I checked samsclub.com (I'm a member), they list Mexican Coke separately but you can't order it online and when I check availability it just tells me where my local store is.

No glass tho.

Glass bottle coke is stronger, which is better.

Eh, I like canned coke better than plastic bottle coke.

Glass bottle coke is incredible.  Although, I only drink the Mexican kind from taquerias around here.  So I don't know if it would make US coke taste any better.
