I've gotta move somewhere that has some fucking culture, the lack of quality entertainment is the absolute worst fucking thing about Wilmington.  The beach is nice but it's only cool for so long.

It's been sort of difficult to take the guy "seriously" after his appearance on All the Pretty Little Horses, but I suppose that Chicago date could be interesting.

You didn't like Dig, Lazarus, Dig?  I think it's the best thing he's done since Boatman's Call, and I really love Abattoir Blues.

The only song I really liked off it was "Today's Lesson" but I'm not the hugest Nick Cave fan ever.

Reporting this post for libel.  Make your time Eric P, it's only so long before Willco checks his email.

I have no idea.  Honestly, I have no idea what sort of crowd a Nick Cave show will attract in Seattle.  I'm expecting more teenage goths than scene kids, but at least goths are more tolerable.

And I am contractually obliged to post this at least once every 3 months:

I'm 18 and I'll probably see him.  I got in to him right before Grinderman came out and then kind of retroactively got into his library.  Oh, and since the people in this thread are probably all Leonard Cohen fans, how is "Songs from a Room".  I had the chance to get it on vinyl and I've never heard it before.

It's good, but not as good as the Songs of Leonard Cohen or Songs of Love and Hate.

Songs From A Room would be much better if it didn't have a fucking Jew's Harp on nearly every track.  I may be missing something crucial here, but I really don't see what that little twanging adds to the songs, particularly when I can't help but focus on it -- it's like I'm hearing a cricket chirping and the only thing on my mind is where the hell it's hiding.

Is this Nick Cave the same as the one that did the soundtrack for The Proposition?  That was excellent work.

He wrote the screenplay for that movie, too.  He also did the soundtrack for The Assassination of Jesse James.  He's also doing the soundtrack to the movie version of Cormac McCarthy's The Road.

What did you think of The Proposition?  I liked it very much even though I felt that it should have moved a little faster.

He also had a minor singing role (I guess he stood around afterwards too) in Jesse James as well.

Got my ticket.  Gotta love how ticketmaster makes a $40 ticket into at least a $54 ticket.
