So I finally set up my remote play for my psp->ps3. couple questions...
I set remote internet start on and now when I turn off my ps3 it will turn back on for a while with that remote start screen saying it will turn off automatically if a connection is not made. That's normal I take it and just the price I pay for remote start?
Also, can I watch videos in the disc drive? like a blu ray or dvd? That would be awesome
And what happened to being able to put small versions of blu ray movies on your psp via connectivity so you can watch them on the go?
:D
Also, can you guys name anything else cool that I can do with my psp and ps3 thing?
what games actually support remote play?
-
also, will any bluetooth headset work with the ps3?

Ever since I've used remote play, my PS3 has been turning on randomly. I think it's just a bug. It's annoying because I don't even use remote play anymore.

Nope. Only videos on the hard drive. Remote play video quality is about the same as youtube.
And what happened to being able to put small versions of blu ray movies on your psp via connectivity so you can watch them on the go?
The way that works is you basically copy a smaller video file from the blu-ray. There are no Blu-rays yet with that feature.
Sony tried to fake it like the PS3 was going to be able to rip and encode a movie for the PSP. That's why some people are confused that it's just a feature that's going to be implemented.
Also, can you guys name anything else cool that I can do with my psp and ps3 thing?

Honestly, remote play is pretty lame. The streaming video looks terrible compared to movies that I ripped from DVDs.
The one useful feature was that I can use the PS3 for web browsing and so I don't run out of memory as fast. But the tradeoff is that it looks worse than using the PSP browser.

Thanks for the answers! :D

You can also play most any PS1 game on your PSP by putting it in the PS3 disk drive.
... at least that's what the patch notes from a couple of firmware revisions ago say. I've never tried it myself.

Does it matter that I have a 40gb? :(
-
I think 40 gigs support PS1 playback. You can download PS1 classics so you should be able to play them over remote play.
Also, please tell me you have custom firmware on that psp.

omfg really? ff8 on my ps3 = :bow :bow :bow
and yes, I have cfw on the psp

I'd recommend RPGs, Mupepe, since you may notice network lag. Actions games are not really playable via Remote play due to the lag.

sweet i can't wait! i'm heading out of town this weekend. Perfect change to try this out.

Let us know what you think! I'm interested to hear reactions on this, maybe I'll give it a try at some point.

I wish Remote Play worked with PS2 games. I need to burn through my PS2 backlog, and it ain't gettin' no love at the moment.
