Proof? On his latest blogpost, I casually asked if StarCraft 2 is noob-friendly, and added rather jokingly that I didn't play the original back when it was new because Daytona USA 2 was taking all my quarters. Then, he deletes my post and had this to say:

And in a previous post, when he was talking about how he saw the Iron Man movie on Sega's dime, I asked him jokingly why he didn't ask about them bringing back those drifting stock cars I love so much. He deleted that post and told me to give the fuck up on seeing that ever again.

Maybe he sucks at Daytona USA 2, and he doesn't want to admit it. He's that guy who granny shifts and wonders why he keeps hitting the walls when he has the hammer down all the time and ignores the brakes like it's a Cruis'n game or something. Thoughts? Psychoanalysis? :-X

maybe he just doesn't want you spamming his blog with Daytona USA 2 comments?
SEGA will never get the license again, the dream is dead
-
daytona wasn't THAT good, anyhow
look for a new christ, sega nerds, especially one that doesn't have a checkered record with sailors
mielke's always been a bit of a baby, though. i called him out on something on gaf a couple years ago, and he shat furious boom blox
-
why would you want to work at 1up anyway

you get to criticize games for not being conscious of gender issues, then call for sex and nudity in them in the same breath.

I'm thinking about a job at IGN now, mainly so I can crib a paycheck from a guy who cribs a paycheck from Rupert Murdoch. :-*

I take it you played it like a Cruis'n game, Prole...

Milky is one of the bigger Sega fans on 1up (along with Shane). I think you're thinking too deeply into this.
-
no, our dorm's arcade had the original in a 4p configuration and i really enjoyed it, but i also don't need to revisit its mechanics -- i find i like the quasi-sims like DIRT and PGR4 a lot more.
-
I hate to derail this but who the fuck is Shane Kim and why do people call him a mangod?
-
Hay guys I hear there's a new Daytona coming out!!!!!!!!!!

You're thinking of Shane Bettenhausen, and people call him a Mangod because he is one of Mary Magdalene's descendants.

I really honestly think that when Daytona USA was new, he went mach 2 into the Mount Sonicmore turn in Three Seven Speedway on his first try, crashed hard, said "fuck this shit", and went back to Cruis'n USA...

What the fuck is your problem?
-
Why the fuck would you talk about Daytona in two completely unrelated articles? You really a fucking hmong loser.
Look at this post
"you sound off .... i sense a desperation that is pretty awkward whenever you comment. i hope you know what your mission is and if it is worth it."
Even 1up knows you are a loser

Nothing. :-*

Apparently he really likes Daytona USA 2. And doesn't want a Ferrari.

Why won't he admit it, then?

He's talking about you, buddy.

I remember being surprised at just how petty and winey he was when he started posting. I was a big fan of his writing in print, not so much on the forum though. In the end it turned me off of Mielke completely. No big loss I suppose.
It's criminal that we never got a great Daytona game at home however. The best one was mostly digital in control, as the nights pad had some control issues (it was never designed to play Daytona.)

Oh. I'm pretty unaware as you can see. Thanks.
Ancient, bitter SEGAfags are the worst kind of fanbois.
They just never let go, do they?
The same can be said for most retro-minded gamers. The people that believe that the SNES was the best system out there. It was a damn fine machine but I definitely think the PS2 trumps it. Whether you agree with me or not, most retro gamers still think companies today give a shit about what they did 15 years ago, unless it is Nintendo trying to squeeze even more money out of pathetic bright eyed fanboys with another re-release.

Hey, at least I'm not pining for Shenmue 3... :wtf :dur :dur :wtf :meeble

Did you delete my comment again? Too wordy? Or do you really hate me? I really don't want to rub you the wrong way. After all, I do really want a job here. (Or do you just not want to talk about Speed Racer ATM?)
Ferarriman
You will never have a job here. And Sega isn't going to make another Daytona, because in order to do that they'd 1) need a racing game development team (they just sold their last one to Codemasters) and 2) they'd need the goddamn Daytona license, which EA probably holds now anyway. Only one game company can hold the Daytona license at any time. Any legitimate 1UP employee candidate would know that.
How many times did you post about Sega racing games, Ferrariman?
-
Holy shit, there's more.
Well, 1.) Toshihiro Nagoshi, the producer of the original Daytona games, is still employed at Sega (and even if he's not working on it, Surfer Girl does suggest that Sumo Digital is working on "a new entry in a venerable Sega sports franchise that draws upon the team's previously-established expertise." What else have they done for Sega besides tennis? Oh, that's right, Out Run. It could happen, brah.), and 2.) If EA is supposed to have a death grip on the Daytona license, then why does Daytona International Speedway proper appear in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue? And besides, they can rename it if need be. A rose by any other name can still pitch stock cars sideways at 200 MPH, right? And as for the "you'll never work here" comment, we shall see about that. You didn't even see my resume yet. (I'll stop here so I don't totally wreck this thread, and ask to take this conversation to the PM inboxes. My PM inbox is always open, brah.)
:spin
More importantly, I hope Sumo's next game isn't like Sega Superstars Tennis. :-\
