The title says it all. That's the second time I've fallen on the GAF horror-hype train (FUCK THE DESCENT).

At least I found this movie enjoyable. Not scary at all, but it had a nice amount of tension. I'd watch it again!

I'm assuming the Spanish original. He said it was in Spanish and had English subtitles, so.

Prole: It's a movie. Supposedly very scary. I didn't watch it. :D

I rarely watch horror movies in theaters anymore.  The crowds usually ruin them for me and I can get a much more intimiate viewing at home.

It's a Spanish handicam horror flick that's been getting raving reviews by pussies and queers, apparently.

The movie is enjoyable, but not the absurdly awesome film it's been made out to be. I recommend downloading/purchasing it.

I downloaded 2 versions of it the other night. One with hard-coded subs at 640x360, and the other without hardcoded subs. I ended up burning the hardcoded one to DVD.

You sent me an SVCD (I think that was the format) that never worked. :-\

I will leave my PC humming overnight and check out REC tomorrow night or on Wednesday.

What I sent you was weird PAL interlaced rip of it that I downloaded at some point. I've now got the movie on real, honest-to-god DVD, so I may have to send it to you again at some point.

.  It's not supposed to be an in your face scary movie.  The writing is pretty bad though.  And the movie is racist as fuck.

asian people who could barely speak spanish and who came off as imbeciles.  Like the asian woman in the movie can barely produce coherent thoughts.  And then all the people around them talk about how bad their food smells and how loud they are.

Finally caught it.  It was enjoyable and the sound design was ace.  It was held back by its budget and an ending that was too Blair Witch-like for me.  And while I applaud foreign directors bringing stuff to the genre - too many of the scares were predictable.  This is less the fault of the director and more the fault of a guy who has seen almost every horror film ever.  I can tell when a scare is coming simply from how a shot is framed nowadays.  The films that creep me out don't really follow those kind of rules.

Willco, can't talk much now, but lets you and me make a horror film where the boogeyman doesn't pop out from the dark corner of the screen that you expect him to, and where people DON'T turn their backs on the undead.

I have two ideas for a horror film, but I'm not committing anything to paper until I feel confident that I can add something to the genre.  I love horror to death, but I made a vow when I took up screenwriting that I wouldn't write a screenplay that I didn't think added anything.

I was thinking it might be neat to have a movie made up entirely of security camera footage and first-person shots. Not the handicam shots, but first person shots from multiple people's perspective. The security camera would let you see what was basically coming toward the protagonists, but then you go into their perspective not knowing what, if anything, awaits them.

rodi and CrystalGemini came over tonight and we watched a double feature of [REC] and Return of the Living Dead.  It was like serious zombie film versus 80s wacky zombies (and full frontal nudity!).  CrystalGemini spent most of [REC] peaking out from a pillow.

Sure, the monsters from the tv can't reach out and grab you, but i encourage women to do this.  If they've got their eyes closed and/or are hiding, they can't see whose hands is rubbing their crotch.
