It doesn't add to Steam but then again, if ActiBlizzard can do it, then more power to them.

In any case, be it Steam, Blizzard's online download service or Direct2Drive on the PC side, or PSN, Xbox Live and Nintendo's VC on the console side, it's very telling: digital distribution is here to stay.

This should be great for gamers because digital distribution doesn't carry the overhead of retail, which in the long run should bring prices down (I hope).

Is this for OSX? I've been mulling over re-nabbing Diablo2 for some network fun, but it's so hard to find an OSX disc.

I'll bite when Diablo II goes up. Never really dug their RTS games.

It won't bring prices down. It might help increase profits to the point where some more marginal games from independent studios get the greenlight from publishers.

You're probably right (hence my "I hope").

At least you get those periodic price drops, those bundled packs (the UT and id deals are noteworthy mentions) and yes, the indie titles (Audiosurf and Shadowgrounds Survivor come to mind).
