Title: How many of you have known women that were INTO video games?
Post by: Saint Cornelius on November 08, 2006, 07:46:05 PM
I don't mean like they'll play a little whatever with their boyfriends, but actively INTO fucking gaming. I figure all the ladies at OA (all, what, six of you? seven? i know one of them is a faker, and i know two of them are real) are 'core enough if they're willing to post at some stupid message board with highly, highly homosexual overtones.

I haven't really known very many. I knew one that owned EVERYONE at Mario Kart & was pretty nice at Starcraft, and one that loved loved LOVED Sega's fishing games for the Dreamcast & said that the DC's powerup jingle was the happiest sound she's ever heard. These are highly personal anecdotes to my own personal experiences, though. I don't really see many females - unless they're really, really young, like Deadmeat young - playing games at kiosks, unless they're playing with their boyfriends. I've seen a lot of cute & nerdy gaming couples and that just makes my :heartbeat, so cyoooooooooote ^______^

I don't think Morgan Freeman or Webb or whatever, I don't think she plays videogames. I think she's eye candy for dudes who like their chicks to have really well-developed jawlines.

okay this thread is all over the place, I just enjoyed a little niceness and I tends to ramble when I do. Shout out your favorite gaming girlies in here!  :-*

Quite a few.  I was married to one.  Dated one a while back.  They're hotter when they can argue with you about games.

Yeah, the girlfriend of the gamer. Known quite a few of those.

Quite a few.  I was married to one.

Why the past tense? Those two women I mentioned in my original post were also married as well - the ladies I know that are into this thit seem to have been a little...  :tomato

Frankly, I barely have a social circle anymore. And even in high school, it didn't really include chicks. And out of all the girls I hung out at all with none played video games. I think one might play some video games now, but I don't talk to her anymore.

But a few months ago at a friend's house we did play some 2-player Guitar Hero with a few girls. Guitar Hero > all.

Yeah Guitar Hero is definitely a game I've seen women playing.

Too you to be married!

And besides that, WoW was her favorite games, and before that it was CoH.  I can't be married to someone like that.  Not to mention... :tomato

Actually to be honest I’ve only met maybe 3 gamer chicks and I know a lot of girls.  My last girlfriend hated videogames, and I really didn’t play them when she was around either…so I missed out on pretty much the last year of the cube/ps2/xbox until I recently started checking them out.

I remember in my dorm last year, there were these group of gamers who would ALWAYS be playing games on the second floor.  When me and my best buddy Nick use to cross them to get to these cute girls room they would just stare at us, lol it was so fucking weird.  So one day I was going to the girl’s room late at night to see what they were doing, and they were sleeping.  So I see the girl Sarah just sitting there playing Mario Kart for N64, I was like can I play?

She was like sure, and we played for a while and I owned her ass ;p.  She said wow I didn’t think you played games, and we had like an awesome conversation …she wasn’t “hot” by any means, but I dunno it felt kinna cool talking to a girl who games..we became pretty good friends after that.

Zero.  I've known women who didn't object, or would play every once in a while, but none I'd call a real gamer.  I expect the younger kids here to have different experiences however.

Most of my GFs resented my vgplaying too...

I talk to one chick who works at Gamestop whenever I go in.

My lesbian friend Sarah is a videogame FREAK. For instance, here's some of her game collection

The only women I have met (IRL) that play games, are the ones that play co-op games with thier boyfriends .. or play Sims or Mario. None that you would call "hardcore".

I have met alot of women that play FPS and MMORPG on-line. But that is the ONLY game they play (CS,DOD,UO,WOW,BF2, etc etc). So, I guess that is the one thing that can be said about women gamers .. they are very loyal to one game/genre. Almost moreso, then men.

If games like EQ count then I know a bunch if not then only a few.  The women I know that like game are more into the long build up your character RPGs and such, not the twitch style games most guys are into.

We still talk, every once and awhile. Sometimes she says things like "You amaze me Spence" or "I love you" and then I just get stuck on her for awhile again. Unfinished business. We both have significant others of ~2 years, and are never single and talking at the same. We get drunk calls from each other, in fact we've both came to pick each other up from bad parties before. God I miss her. I just talked to her for the first time in a long time. We just said how much we miss each other. I hope one day the timing will be right...

There you go eviljournal.

Holy fucking shit.  You just described my situation as well.  That was fucking weird.  Holy fucking shit.

I knew one into Nintendo, but I wouldn't date her because she was a nutball.  CrystalGemini is honestly the first chick that I know who is really into videogames, so much so that her videogame soundtrack surpasses my own.  But she's also the first one that I've met that likes game and isn't emotionally fucked up.

Well my wife is by far the best I've ever seen, but all of the other girls I've known who played video games were just really....... weird.  They'd talk about their personal problems all of the time.  Major turn-off.  Also besides Denise I've never met a woman who actually is good at video games...  who can pick it up and figure it out herself and do well without having to have it explained to her by someone far more skilled.

This is going to be a thread of sad nerdboy anecdotes, so I'll share mine, too!

I've known.. outside of far away internet people, around 4 or 5 girls.  Add in the internet ones and it's maybe three times that amount. I wasted part of my summer hanging out/courting a girl who was into videogames.  I remember she excitedly called me up one day after a class to tell me she figured out that the voice of Cloud was a guy from a soap opera, and other times she'd tell me about her looting and stealing in Morrowind, or how some new RPG sucked.  She would play a lot of console rpgs and write up second hand reviews for her brother's website. There was another girl years ago that mentioned that she wanted to make a small model of Samus Aran and the thought itself was like "OH THIS BABE IS IT".  But the problem with these girls, the problem with Geek Queens, is that they all turn out mentally imbalanced and generally fucked up in the head. I don't think they are as rare as people think they are, I think girls play videogames and more are apt to now than before. I got an exgf hooked on Animal Crossing and now she's a DS nut. It's just that finding the real gamer girl who is not psycho is impossible.

I met three at a bar a couple months ago.  Got the number of one of 'em.  Didn't get anywhere, obviously.

She might have been a lesbian fucking with me, though.  She had a couple Pride buttons on her bag.  At least, that's what I tell myself  :'(

What's good muthafuckers?

I know two girls who are gamers and so hardcore into video games they aspire to work in the video game industry. One of them is kinda cute, kinda nerdy and has had a boyfriend for way longer than I've known her. She seems like a cool, down to earth chick despite being a gaming-nerd. The other one is into some weird shit. She dresses like a 13 year old boy who shops at Hot Topic and she knows A LOT about computers. She once tried talking some l33t haxxor shit to me and I just looked at her like "what the fuck are you talking about?" She's more skater than nerdy looking though. W/E, you guys would probably think she's hot though. I would post pics of the latter girl from her myspace page but because she's a hardcore gamer, chances are she at least reads GAF and probably knows about this forum.

It's weird that they are more into video games than I am. The cute, nerdy one I mentioned first even convinced me to buy a DS.

Haha let her play with that waggle wand  :D You go man, you seem to be rockin it lately.

As for moi i've met a lot of girls that are really hardcore gamer chicks. My girl loves freaking games. Hell my mom loves my collection of pinball games. Havent shown her the other side of the room with the arcade games. I dont think theres many girls i've met that arent into video games. Hell i woke up this one morning in some girls bed and she was playing startropics that was strange.

But if your talking about hardcore girls that know when all the games are coming out. I've only met a few of those they scare me. I'm lucky my girl knows only what she wants and i can make her forget whats coming out easily.

None. All of the ones I've known either tolerated it to spend time with me or think it's a boring waste of time.
