Title: i think the gas gods are ripping me off

...or maybe I'm just bad at math?

I pre-paid in cash for my gas today, so I had exactly $10 worth of gas. Regular unleaded was 3.75 a gallon. So why did I only end up with 2.66 gallons of gas? Help me understand, EB!

Hahaha sorry. I was like, adding zeros to the 3.75 for some reason. :headdesk

^ I have been defeated.  :(  Oh and the 2.5 cents is made up in the .009 cents on the end of the 3.759

Also, keep in mind that gas prices at pumps are not in whole cents, but the price posted  + nine tenths of a cent per gallon. This was a sort of holdover from the sub-dollar per gallon prices in the  US.

2.66*3.759 = 9.99894
