"Though you can hop in and begin playing with a friend online right from the start, Dyack told us that he personally would recommend playing it by yourself on the first run through. That's because the game removes all of the story and cutscenes from the co-op game to keep the action moving…"

:lol
What an awesome co-op game!!!!
-
Rainbow Six does the same thing (although it has 4p co-op - except R6V2 which has 2p co-op)
-
What the hell is this? So the game basically forces you tot play by yourself the first time? lame
-
Yeah, cause you all were watching cut scenes together while you played Halo 3 co-op.
Queers.
-
This cannot be far behind:
Also, when we said two player co-op, we meant you and a buddy can take turns controlling one character. We think this will revolutionize the way people think of co-op gameplay in the future.
-
This game is going to get slammed online. I mean, its already getting slammed in gaming forums. But Dyack really overhyped this game.
-
Meh. Dont care. Prolly wont even rent it now.
Gonna bomb so bad too
-
Really, Bungie would have been a much better fit for such an ambitious game. They have the manpower and tallent to bring this game to awesometown.
-
we don't need another 640p, thanks.
-
in too human's defense, who the fuck wants story and cutscenes in a multiplayer session of a loot and levels game.
-
I'm pretty glad Bungie are nowhere near this one. There's still hope the single player game is good.

"DEMO COMING............ SOON"
He said the same thing last year
:lol
You know what else Dyack said?

So... 4-player coop reconfirmed?
-
in too human's defense, who the fuck wants story and cutscenes in a multiplayer session of a loot and levels game.
agreed. if you hate the game so much you can't play it in SP, do you really care about the cut scenes?

Seriously. Its like grinding an Instanced dungeon in an MMO where your forced to watch cutscenes everytime. That would be horrible
-
Well it does suck when you want to play the game for the first time in co-op and you both want to see the cutscenes. Why not do the Gears system: the host decides whether the scenes are skipped or not.
-
Dyack is a fat fuck loser
-
Why don't they have an option where if you press the start button during a cutscene it is skipped? I believe this is an innovation that has been around nearly as long as cutscenes in games have been.
-
Agreed. Just press "A" and you can skip it. It isn't brain surgery.
-
so you guys want to play on co-op your first time and have one of your characters actually being shown talking during the cutscenes and the other awkwardly sitting on the side not saying anything?
fegs.
I'm sure the game will be good overall.
-
Or have the other one just not be a part of the cutscenes, like some other co-op games do. It's not a big deal.
-
the game is about the story.
it has customizable characters.
erasing one guy doesn't work.
-
I'm still sort of boggled that people would care about a story of cyber enhanced norse gods enough to complain about not being able to enjoy cutscenes in a multiplayer mode. Hasn't anyone played Diablo or its allies with other people at the same time? It's about blasting through trash as fast as possible to get to the boss monsters for the good drops, not "reliving the story" or some BS.

How does it not work? You just play the cut scenes with the Player 1 character...what's the big deal? Too hard to suspend disbelief?

I'm pretty sure there would be some story decisions (the title kind of implies that...)
I mean, it's probably not to the same degree but imagine playing co-op Mass Effect where only one guy gets to decide the conversation branches.
-
Seems logical to me. If it's anything like their other games, the cutscenes will not be short affairs and certainly wouldn't gel with an online multiplayer experience.

You're right, this game is just going to suck shit.
-
Day 1.
Just because.

So what was the point of all that Norse mythology shit that Dyack was talking about for years? Most hours of TH are going to be spent doing online multiplayer. The whole mythology shit is entirely pointless.
Did Dyack do anything right with this game?

I'm sure that he said MANY times over the decade that it took to make this game that there are a bunch of different story paths. Even if he loves the story he made, he knows that people don't want a deep and mind-bending experience when trying to build up stats and loot when in co-op.
I'm guessing that you all are just PMS'd out from bleeding for 9 years.
Can't think straight.

This isn't a bad decision on SK's part. Ubisoft included cutscenes in R6V2, and they used it as justification to limit coop to 2 players. Imagine if SK decided to include cutscenes in Too Human's multiplayer. Coop would be 1 player.
Actually, I bet he's saving that announcement until a week before release.
