Title: 5/17/08 - what games did you buy this week?

Boom BLOX

Totally fucking awesome - I highly recommend. I agree that the game is simple - but there are enough unlockables and content to make it a $39.99 game at least.

Still havent tried party mode so I cant comment on multiplayer.

SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1
(http://gallery.mac.com/abrader/100015/IMG_0404/web.jpg)

This is another cheap title that provides a ton of value - cheaper to get the SNK games this way as opposed to Nintendo Wii, better save/checkpoint/save rom state tools and accomplishments to unlock like the capcom collections. My girlfriend and I have played the hell out of Burning fight and Shock Troopers. Samurai Showdown has not aged well for a fighter. BRING ON VOL 2!

What did you get this week?

Next week I plan to pick up:

- Castle of Shikigami III
- Haze

War has come down on Calradia and war attracts its own bunch of misfits. Mercenaries, cutthroats, knights and adventurers flood into the land looking for adventure, fortune and glory. But war is a harsh master. It gives away death and grief to the lot, fortune to a chosen few, and glory, wise men say, to none. Still, men ride to war, for one or other reason. Some because they are looking for thrill and excitement, some because they are desperate and know no other way. Some because they are so bitter and hateful that they are willing to unleash doom on earth... And yet some, because they are the very heroes who will step forward to stop that...

it's really, really, really neat.

LostWinds and My Life as a King.

While both games were fairly short, they were fun and worth the cost.

I've played through the first level so far. One-hit deaths are the name of the game for the PSP version.  :(

this game is awesome

i have spent the past 4 hours playing various markets to raise money, i've trained a village in defence so they could repel a bandit attack, i've whored myself out to many many kingdoms doing odd jobs

this game is REALLY fun and REALLY different from most crpgs nowadays.

i'd suggest if you are looking for something different to download the demo and play to level 6

NYT Crosswords for DS.

I am seriously not literate/old enough for anything harder than a Tuesday puzzle. (Mondays are easiest, Sundays hardest.)

I can make it to Wed and then... forget it. I score tons of D's across the board, I haven't even attempted a Sunday puzzle yet...
