Andre continues his line of "Concept" videos, and this one is quite cool if I should say so myself. Big Boi's video is way more colorful and eye-catching. I also like his change of pace better, to be honest. They continue their trend of having 2 separate videos and singles per group member.
Andre - IdleWild Blues (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXfwnyPucEA)
Big Boi f/ Scar - Morris Brown (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il24Zq90_l8)

I like that Morris Brown joint. Good stuff.
Why don't they just formally announce the split allready?
-
They aren't split...

They aren't split...
They might as well be. They seem to be separate entities now. I'm just wondering what's making Andre3000 stick around, he clearly wants to move on past his partnership with Big Boi and do his own thing...
-
The fact that they just co-wrote and co-starred in a movie, and the IdleWild CD has OutKast (Both members) tracks on it. As in both of them on one track. They're just likely doing this to get more sales (By having 2 singles out and hitting both ends of their fanbase spectrum most likely).

I didn't know that. I recall reading that 3000 really wanted to leave the group and that he and Big Boi hit a rough patch in their working relationship. They were also saying conflicting things in the separate interviews they were giving for a while. But if there's no more talk of a split up that's good for them and their fans.
On a slightly related note: Andre's hair cut game is FUCCED up!

I'm rather interested in Idlewild, just due to the commercials.

They always report that stuff in papers. Even after Big Boi and Andre have said it publically not only in magazines and whatnot but in their songs themselves
And everybody wanna know whus really goin' on
Is you and 3000 still makin' songs?
So on and so on
I can o-on and o-on
and on, and on, and on
Hell yes!
But I know many people would rather hear stuff from blogs and whatnot than from the actual artists...

both are incredibly mediocre =/

They were on BET a few weeks ago and they clearly stated there is no split/creative difference.
Morris Brown could have really been an awesome song, but Big Boi's verse is meh. The chorus/bridge are amazing.
Idlewood Blues is good, but why is it a first single? Radio won't embrace that.
-
Well, who knows. I didn't think anyone would embrace Hey Ya or MilkShake for that matter when they first came out.
And I completely agree about Morris Brown. Scar's womanly voice fits the song perfectly.
-
Morris Brown could be a hit; Big Boi's verse on The Way you Move wasn't that great, but the chorus carried the song to hit status. Same could happen here. Idlewood Blues is so different though. It's really a warped blues song. Not everybody is like me and into blues though.
-
I'd say Hey Ya was far more untraditional than this song. Idlewild has a deep bass line and isn't all too unfamiliar. Now whether it'll chart very high is the question, but it had a great video (which will help), a lot of promotion, and isn't extremely terrible as to not be deemed suitable as a single.

Awesome videos.
