Picked up a G9 at Best Buy today. My old wireless G7 just didn't seem to be adequate for 1920x1200.
Also, I got sick of changing batteries twice a day.
I would have liked to get a new wireless mouse but there's been no news from Logitech regarding new wireless gaming mice.
The G9 feels fantastic so far. There are so many different ways to configure it to what you want.
Its response is so much tighter than the G7 which was already a damn good mouse.
The only problem is now I have no excuse if Cajole owned me again in TF2.

Yeah, I really love this mouse, and I haven't gotten the sweet tooth for a new one. I really don't know what else I could ask for. Maybe the sidewheel from the MX Revolution, but I won't lie to myself and tell me it was that useful.

Any tips on how to make it work better? What do you use for weights and grip?
I'm using the default grip and two 4gs and two 7gs as weights. Is it better to tweak the DPI settings or leave them as is?
-
I just use 2 4gs. I'm not sure what changes I made to the default settings. It's been a while. I didn't use any 3rd party apps or hacks.

How do you get rid of the tension from the wire? It's coiled up in the box and the material won't allow it to straighten easily.
Maybe I'm just too used to a wireless mouse.
-
I don't recall having any issues with the wire at all.
-
The wire just keeps curling on itself and pulling the mouse when I'm not holding it.
I guess I'll have to wait for it to straighten out after a few days.

I think I've found the solution to my wire problem. I just added more weights and now the mouse isn't being pulled back by the recoil in the wire.
