was drunk on saturday night and saw a 2 minute long trailer on tv that looked more interesting than the short trailers I'd seen.
Writer and director Bryan Bertino doesn't appear to have anything else on his track record (according to IMDB).
Sooo, anyone heard anything positive or negative?

remake of french film "ils"
supposed to be ok, if nonsensical
-
was "ils" any good? or were you referring to ils being ok and nonsensical?

:bow the orphanage :bow2
The Orphanage has some of the creepiest imagery I've seen in a movie. Rocked total fucking ass man.

was referring to ils
i really, really, really like the trailer for this, but i've been hurt so many times before.

same here. It looked pretty generic when I saw the short trailer, but then I saw like the 2 minute trailer and it looked way more thought out than I had assumed. And it looked like they added in some nice pacing elements and they weren't going to blow their load in A Clockwork Orange style house invasion (not a dog on the ACO, but that's the vibe I got from the short trailer and I immediately thought 'wow that will not translate well to a full movie').

Which version of Ils should I get? Why were two made within two years?

Bought the one marked 2008, I guess it's just different dvd releases but maybe it has a better transfer/more features or something.

bloody disgusting gave it a positive review.
but then horror sites can be a bit...um, myopic in their views of what's good vs what's not.
