G15 gaming keyboard, Japanese layout edition. Just installed it, works flawlessly. Love the iTunes and WoW integration.
It is DELICIOUS.

What makes it a "gaming keyboard," out of curiosity?
-
the little LCD screen at the top. a lot of games and apps integrate with it and use it as a HUD display. so like, when I:m playing WoW, it displays one of a few screens of stats I can cycle through (bag space, stats, etc.) and if I use the media keys to navigate through WinAmp or iTunes, it displays the song info on the LCD briefly before returning to WoW (or whatnot)

Nice.
Did you get the G9 mouse as well? Best mouse yet.

It's expensive and gamers think they need it, of course.

it has those buttons on the side...I think.
Nice.

Is it really? how is the middle mouse button?
I have the MX revolution for web surfing and all that, but it is shit for playing games so I switch out with my old G5 or whatever it was mouse.

The middle button works OK. There are also two buttons on the side which you can use, with the lower one being more useful.
The scrolling wheel is really awesome. You can switch from regular clicky mode to quick, frictionless scrolling. Basically, clicky mode is for games while the smooth mode is for scrolling up and down on a webpage.
Other cool features are the abilities to change: grip, weight and even the color of the LED lights. There's a wide range of colors that you can choose for the lights. It's amazing.
Of course, the mouse is also ultra-responsive for gaming purposes. You can also switch between 4 different DPI speeds on the fly.

I like how the letters/symbols are orange. My favorite color. :)

can you bind the middle mouse button in games? with my MX revolution, which has the same scroll wheel, you can't since the middle mouse button is used for switching between the clicky and frictionless scrolling.

Yeah, middle button works for games. A different button on the bottom is used for switching between scroll wheel modes.

I thought for a moment that you'd bought a new synthesizer :(

Maf, how's the Habu?
It looks nice but I've never used a Razer before, so I went with the G9.
-

i have a logi desktop wave at work. it's awesome
my Asus G1 laptop came with an MX518 mouse which is nice

That's the ugliest design I've ever seen, for both a keyboard and mouse.
