Serpico fucking rocks. What a run Pacino had - he did, in order, The Godfather, Serpico, The Godfather Part II, and Dog Day Afternoon.

Dog Day Afternoon is much more coherent than Serpico.  Pacino gives a great performance, but the editing in Serpico is totally wonky and for a film that takes place over a long period of time, that's an absolute no-no.  It feels rough, but it's still good.
