Title: Are those cheap Wacom tablet/stylus any good?
Post by: muckhole on May 24, 2008, 11:16:18 AM
Shot in the dark, but I've been eyeballing some of those cheapo pc tablets for my PC like this one:

I draw alot, but I've never tried on a comp with one of these. I didn't want to spend a fortune to find out whether or not I can use one decently.

Any recommendations?

I have a small black Bamboo, and it's pretty good for sketching.

Perfect. Does it do fine lines alright? Or is that more dependent on the software it's used with? I usually work with pencils.

Eh, a little of column A, a little of column B. I use it with PS and GIMP, and I usually have to twiddle with the settings in PS to keep things from being too sensitive. I have a crappy LCD monitor, and sometimes I can't even see the finer lines I accidentally draw when I'm just moving the stylus from one part to another.

Sounds like it will do the trick for me as a beginner, although I may get the Intuos Viz mentioned, it's only like $30 more. Thanks a ton guys.
