Yeah Universe At War is not shitty. It's sort of a perfect example of a good game that came out at a bad time. Sega's always been a bit distinguished mentally-challenged with the way they market and release games. Sega does best when it just gets the hell out of the way and throws money at companies like Creative Assembly.
I never understood the rationale for production/market demand for Space Siege at all. I'll still probably buy it though-it's good loot and levels!

yup, dungeon siege 2 was a competent if ultimately busted party-based hack-and-slash. if the loot and the levels are there, i'm in regardless. it'll at least be better than too human!

i prefer the original DS. The open world campaign was pretty damn amazing

the original ds was even MORE linear, though! it was just one big long corridor. ds2 had hubs and alternate routes and better loot and boss fights and omg actual skill trees

i should have specified that we (my house mates and i) played it the whole way through on local co-op, which is scientifically proven to make nearly anything amazing

ds2 was way better than ds1 one, though ds1 probably got the worst hardcore gamer/reviewer treatments I've ever seen and isn't that bad of a game.
