ahahaha and people rip on ps3 exclusives, NG2 sucks

Never played Ninja Gaiden but why the hell didn't they incorporate GOD OF WARS camers system where you... gasp... DO NOT control the camera? It works flawlessly.
GoW's camera was something special. With a few exceptions, it was almost entirely where it should've been at any given moment.

doesn't GOW's "camera system" amount to a ton of manual work setting the camera in every possible situation? not really something you can just easily "incorporate" by downloading it somewhere and plugging it into your game.

It was fixed angles, I believe. This had the added benefit of nudging the player in the proper direction.

My biggest concern is the level design. I loved the original and I liked how the whole world was interlocking. I worry that I might find this one a bit dull in comparison.
The camera doesn't bother me. I never played Black with its controllable camera but I had no problems with the camera in the original which only allowed centering behind you.
-
I couldn't play the original or Black due to the crappy camera, it sucks that Itagaki still insists on this shitty camera setup, instead of having fixed angles. Not a big GOW fan either but that's one thing they definitely got right. :-\
-
The camera is... serviceable. It has issues. I will not argue that. But you can get used to it.
NG is the fastest action game on the market. A 3D camera cannot keep up with the action.
So you either deal with z trigger snap backs every few seconds, or you cheese it out with a GOW style camera. I am VERY glad NG does not have a GOW style camera. It's too far back, only useful for spamming big sweeping attacks onto big ass hordes of braindead enemies.
I can't wait to play this game.

sounds good.
I hope they do Ps3 rev.
make a wii game too ;)

I don't see how Team Ninja is ragged on.
Whatever you can say about them, you can't deny they're consistent. All the DOA's are of the same quality, if you didn't like it before though, you won't like these.
The people who bitch about Team Ninja games are the same people who have always bitched about Team Ninja games.
BTW, Ninja Gaiden Sigma rocks and it wasn't even developed by the main team.

TN has like the worst creature designers in the whole world.
-
Shit looks like shit shat by shitty Rare, only shittier.
-
i think we found cohen soul mate.
-
I dont normally side with Duckman2000 on things, but TN does have its head up its butt when it comes to monster designs
-
they give a good fighting, all that matters here.

Camera sux, fighting system crippled! nooo we're goin down!
I'll still buy it cause its like a coffee table book. People see it and go 'oh wow, MAF must be good at hard games'
-
I'm going to play the shit out of NG2, and if I can handle the camera system, everyone can.
-
U CANT MAKE ME

Anyone know if they've released the achievement list?
I hope they aren't as ridiculous as the DMC4 achievements.

Yes, and they are more ridiculous

ng2 achievements are easier demi.

Yes, because making me play the entire game 20 times with a single weapon is FUN
You fanboy FUCK OFF
-
first professor k now this.
our achievement hero is dead.
-
Some of those are pretty bad. But, at least it looks like you can get at least 500 points on one play through.
-
my point exactly.

i will destroy you.

that's not hard, at all.

I just can't get over how bad the art direction is in these games. It's criminally terrible.
I truly believe they throw a bunch of 12 year old boys in a room and give them crayons. After 2 hours they collect the results and start making their game.
-
I honestly don't remember having any awareness of camera issues in NG until I heard people talking about it on GAF.
Maybe I'll notice it now in this new next gen era but I got by just fine in vanilla NG before.

This is what I was thinking. As I said, I haven't played Black, but I imagine the action is much too fast to be moving your finger to the right analog stick. A snap behind camera works great and is really all that is needed.
GOW's camera was good for that game, but they're really quite different. In Ninja Gaiden it's critical to keep moving otherwise someone will hit you in the ass. Whether that someone is off screen or not is somewhat irrelevant - you don't leave your ass hanging out in the first place.
But again, I never had problems with offscreen enemies that I recall.
-
the main thing you guys are forgetting is that Ninja Gaiden is the shit, and God of War is plain old shit

I fucking love Ninja Gaiden and I realize why the camera has to be the way it is, but there are two aspects of it that annoying to me: offscreen enemies with projectile weapons/magic attacks, and platforming bits that don't let you see enough of the screen. I can deal with it but I think there's room for improvement for sure. You never end up running into the wall when going up stairs in God of War, but it's very easy to do in NG. Still, if that's the worst criticism of NGII, it doesn't put me off in the least.

I never had a problem with NGB's camera ever.
NGII will be great.

That would explain the tits and gore.
More 12 year olds need to design games.

WOW YOU MUST BE GREAT AT GAMES
c'mon now, never?! i've defended it in many venues because i think people don't understand why it has to be that way (i.e. the game would have to change for the camera to be better) but I also can't understand those who say it's never caused problems. On your 3rd or 4th playthrough, when you know the environments backwards, maybe. But I bet there will be times during NGII when you die after someone shoots you from offscreen with no warning causing you to drop into lava or some shit. I'd put money on it.

No More Heroes :bow2
And look forward to my official NG2 thread guyz.

I am a manual-camera SAVANT LIKE NO OTHER. Most people who see me play games with manual-cameras think I have 3 arms and shit.
My right thumb was confused when I played God of War. I rolled like a motherfucker :lol :lol

This whole post is correct. :bow
It really bugs me when I hear people say that Sigma is not the definite version. Sure it had a couple of issues that rarely occurred (e.g. loading during battle), but it is not enough to dismiss the game's advantages over Black.
The game looked substantially better thanks to the larger and more detailed textures. More save points and shops were added. You could shoot arrows in midair, and fight and run on water surfaces automatically. Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang were the only new weapons in the game, but they were also the strongest and most fun to use.
Rachel wasn't fast and easy to use as Ryu, but I found her to be a fun alternative. Her missions were brief and spread out so it wasn't too distracting.
It was just an awesome game.
