:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Home seriously looks fucking gay.  They really think this is going to be a system selling point?  This shit is stupid.  Just hook me up with my achievements.  I didn't realize how much achievements mattered to me until I started PS3 games and didn't get them.

when people hear about home they will all buy all the ps3s oh god yes and then sony will give me a medal and money for making home threads and that girl in geometry class will say "oh god wollan you showed those xbots i love you" and then we'd have sex and wow

At first I thought it was going to be some lame ass Habo Hotel/Second Life thing but the more I see of Home the creepier it gets.  It's like a 1984-ish PR cheerleader convention which is infinitely more annoying, imo.

I wonder how much this had to do with Harrison being kicked to Atari. Between this and failures such as Lair, Heavenly Sword and the majority of the launch line-up, you know.

On the topic of Home though, I don't know what's more nauseating; Stards claiming that it will be the next big thing, or xtards worrying aloud that it might just be that, in their own obnoxious way. Seems like it could be cool, for those into the whole community shit.

Is there still going to be an XMB implementation for those who don't want to fuck around with virtual spaces?

I really hope they have a regular alternative to home for arranging games since walking around to do everything is a time waster, but I will say that this looks much MUCH better than the old versions shown featuring Herman Munster and this clones conquering a mall...which would actually be a great game, but not when you can't kill them.

So I guess you just kind of play this look at screenshots of this while waiting for that next big PS3 exclusive that's really going to be awesome this time, we promise.

It already looks like too much walking.

Trophies and your house might be cool but I can't fathom walking someplace to watch a GameTrailers video on what's essentially picture-in-picture and sub-HD.

They'd better launch a proper in-game messaging system and shit simultaneously with this at the latest.

From what Shawn Elliott said on GFW, Secondlife sounds like a fuckin riot.

Shawn Elliott is a known grieffer so he should know about scenarios where fucking with people is optimal. Home sounds like the type of game you could just go crazy with, in that regard.

More commonly known as "myspace".

Still, I have to say that if I get a PS3 I'm looking forward to making a porn room.  Then I'll invite you all over and we can sit around feeling uncomfortable.

I've honestly never got  the hype with Home.  I barely have enough time to play games as it is, and I'm sure as hell not going to mess around with a Second-Life wannabe.

What I'm interested in seeing are the developer  rooms if they ever happen. I like the idea of a dev creating a virtual room for their game using assets from the game, filled with trailers, images, etc maybe even demo. I think everything else is cool too and I'll use it every now and then.

Everyone is so vehemently against a free product that doesn't have to be used.

I think most are just vehemently opposed to the people that are really excited about this warmed over Second Life - i.e. Wollan, Kittonwy, mabuza, etc.

That'll be cool for a few minutes I guess, but how many devs are gonna commit to that?

Right, but then what reasonable person would be opposed to the product simply because the product is being promoted by douchebags? That'd be akin to someone hating on the Xbox 360 because xtards are such chowderheads and obnoxious shitcunts.

On Home, I was surprised to hear Sony back down a bit from the 3rd party ad/commerce end of it. Not sure if its genuine though.

Except the 360 is ace.

Wait, so Sony has another free online system that matches everything Xbox Live does for me?

Home will become the online system.  Everything will be done through home. Home will flop badly that we will return to PS2-ear online systems.

I liked PS3 Online back when everyone thought it would be done through Xfire.

Last I heard, all the matchmaking and community aspects of Home would be available through a Home tab in the XMB. So that, if it's still working this way, would be the "other" free online system.

.... does anyone else expect Home to be cancelled?

I don't. I expect it to be perhaps downsized in terms of features, and probably not so well supported. As I mentioned before, I have a feeling that Home here played a big part in Harrison going to Atari.

But as said, if it gives people the features that these dorks seem to clamor for (the XBL experience, so to speak) without the need to actually participate in the "VR" space, then hating on it would seem more than a little bit daft.

I agree with AA, I think it will just have feature after feature cut until it's deliverable. Things like playing your own videos and other superfluous shit will be thrown out.

Actually it would be funnier if the XMB launching ended up getting cut.
