It looks to me like Starcraft with a hint of Warcraft, but I can't place why. It sucks because I've always found the Warcraft franchise to be ugly.

I agree the pics usually look meh but the videos always look omg awesome. Most anticipated game of 2008 and the only non-expansion game that matters to my wallet :bow

The animation-very fluid and detailed-really makes up for the lack of graphical shortcomings. It's still an attractive game.

Though I'd be more than happy if Blizzard made a Rise of Legends Rebalanced : Battlenet Edition so I could actually find people to play the best designed RTS of all time with (and yes I mean that. It is just that good, provided you avoid playing the Coutl). The main matchmaking server for RoL hasn't worked in months, thanks Gamespy/Microsoft.

you can play the single player and have fun.

the multiplayer experience will likely be, like every blizzard game not named world of warcraft, limited to people you know who aren't three armed koreans.

I don't mind all the chaos (I have leet micro skills) but it's not the most visually appealing thing I've ever seen. It does look a lot like WC3 :-\

Hey Frag, since I'm catching up on the RTS gaming I've missed in the past five years, I guess I should just skip Rise of Nations and get Rise of Legends? I was barely able to play the AoE3 demo on my old laptop, and it just seems too familar, since I played the first two a bunch.

I duno, Kohan's multiplayer probably would have been more enjoyed by the majority more due to the steeper learning curve of Starcraft once you reached higher levels of play. Blizzard was just the bigger name. This thread made me go back and watch a bunch of old SC replays from WCG and stuff, and it's insane how people can play that flawlessly. I used to be pretty good, but you really have to pour WoW-worthy amounts of time into 1v1s on Lost Temple to get as good as dem Koreans.

The pics look like W3 but in motion it looks like StarCraft to me. I'd imagine the pics are spiced up and shit

We should have a huge EB SC2 tourney like a month or so after the game comes out and the winner gets another copy of SC2 so he can play two games at once!  :hyper  Or like, some prize that'd be good, like a $50 razor mouse or something.   :-*
