I just stopped playing DMC4 because of this bullshit. I just wanna go through the level, fuck shit up, and then fuck up the boss. I have absolutely no patience for puzzles and mazes in these type of games. Anyone else feel the same?
-
Shit is a drag, but I suppose there are some games that do it well.
There are probably a lot of games that would turn into snoozers without those distractions.
-
I did not like the dmc4 dice game level much either
-
I don't mind little puzzles thrown in here and there.
Mazes tend to shit me off. I generally dislike any situation where you have two or more very long paths and only one leads out and the others lead to items or something. At what point do you turn around and check the other path for fear that the game might move on and you can't go back and fully explore?
-
The dice game was cool to me, but that fucking maze that you had to deal with on Dante's 2nd level pissed me off.

I fucking hate that too :lol
-
Yeah, that happens to me in rpgs all the time. :(
Anyway, I read a faq earlier and ran through that dumbass maze. I'm up to level 16 now. Gilgamesh and Pandora are some of the coolest weapons ever. :D
-
The dice is glitched, you can just cheat your way through. Just hit the dice when the number you want is facing up, it goes in a set order.
-
I think what I hate more than puzzles and mazes are the repetitive tap tap tap footsounds that I have to listen to as I get more and more fucked up

So true. :lol
I just beat my first DMC game on Human mode. It was shorter than I expected and I wish they put more bosses in the game instead of making me fight the same 5 bosses 3 times each, but its still a fun game.

Are you talking about the maze where you just walk in the direction of the light source? The really easy 2 second one?
-
i think he is talking about the whole level, not just the statues.
edit: i loved the boss fight there, the level however is pretty shitty.

Yeah, that was the puzzle. The maze was the rest of the level with its fucking portals.

Luckily for you, they let you fight her 3 times! :lol

The worst part is you only fought Credo once and he was easily the best fight in the game. This fucked me come bloody palace time.
-
DMC is boring. All you ever do is enter a room, watch the doors lock, fight uninspired awfully designed enemies which basically consist of a few sticks glued together, kill them all and proceed to the next room. Repeat.
-
I liked the enemy designs in DMC4, especially the armored lancer guys. I agree that watching the doors magically locked is annoying though.

Shit, you're right. I can't believe that I forgot about that fight.
-
Bah, I disagree. The combat is fun and that's what really matters. I preferred Nero over Dante though because of his devil bringer arm. I wasn't having much fun playing as Dante until I got Gilgamesh.
-
Beezy, if you just want pure combat try the Bloody Palace.

I agree completely. Odd, the whole time I was playing DMC4, I remember back when Capcom had announced dev on DMC2. Does anyone else recall that they put a poll up on their website asking if you wanted more, less, or about the same puzzle-to-action ratio as in DMC? I clicked 'less puzzles' but I'm not sure they got my vote... :(

I'll definitely try that, but I only beat it on Human mode so far, not Devil Hunter.

The original DMC a lot of puzzles?

No. It had a few fetch quest-y door/lock puzzle things. They needed to go. They still do.

That should've unlocked the Bloody Palace, right? I don't remember, though.

Nah, I checked a faq and it said that you unlock it by beating the game on Devil Hunter. I'm gonna try to beat Ninja Gaiden Black and GTA4 before NG2 comes out next week, so I won't be doing that for now.
All I got for beating it on Human was a picture and the history of DMC.
-
I thought the dice rocked. I didn't get the complaints.
I like combat puzzles and the like in action games. It spices things up. It's why DMC3 is so varied. You've got the gauntlet around mission uhhhh 4 or 7 was it? And the GENIUS chess fight omg.
-
i didn't mind the first dice puzzle but the one at the end is just too long.
look man, if you want me to fight bosses just let me do it straight, no puzzles and shit.
-
I don't mind puzzles designed as boss fights. like, the part in super metroid where you have to knock that boss into acid omg. I was stuck on that fight for the longest time. I thought he'd die from my actual damage.
-
I have no complaints with the dice games. That was fun and didn't involve any mazes or puzzles.

And you got nothing cause you're a soft pussy ass bitch. Who the fuck plays Human anyway? For real. Fuck. I thought you were rough and gangster.
-
what do you think about platforming? like, say, the platforming in ninja gaiden

i don't mind that at all.
the thing about that dice puzzle is that it keeps getting longer and longer and i missed a lot, really pissed me off, i didn't know the trick back then.
i had to fight those electric fucks couple of times before some of the bosses, shit sux.
-

not needed imo.

Shutup. I thought Human was supposed to be normal.
-
is there a way to unlock all of dmc4's modes with a code like in dmc3? because devil hunter or whatever it was is too easy and i'd like to play on hard mode instead the next time i borrow the game from someone
-
I don't have the extra money now, I'd rather pay ichi back than buy dmc4, which I find to be quite boring.
-
so why dont you, why havent you
