Snes9xTYL finally gets an update which includes a much needed speed boost. Games that used to stutter run flawlessly and games that had some massive slow down can be fully playable with some tweaking.
Grab it here:

w00t! good times to have that second psp
-
it's a test release though, bugs ahoy.

For some reason NesterJ keeps deleting all my games at random times when I use it, it sucks :'(
I will wait for final version of this so at least SNES stays intact.

Strange, I haven't had that happen to me before.
So far the only problems I've encountered with the new SNES9x is that you can't put the system in sleep mode and depending on the engine you have set you won't be able to use the HOME button to go back into the GUI (though I found holding L and clicking Start to switch modes fixes this).
Most of the game I've tested work great now and the ones that gave me serious issues before work fine when you set the Engine to Accurate and the Frameskip to AUTO. Mode 7 games still run like ass though.

No problems on the slim, right?
-
That's what I'm using it on.

do you know if mmx2/x3 or the dbz rpgs are playable? i tried mmx2 some months ago and it was too slow to be playable. also, do translation patches work with it?

Just played through the first stage in X3 and it works really well if you have the frameskip set to AUTO. X1 works flawlessly without the skip.

how does lufia 2 play on it
-
Sweet. I'll have to try this out.
-
Don't you guys have your own PSPs? ::)
Lufia II seems to play just fine as does Demon's Crest and Actraiser and Super R-Type and Dragon Quest VI and Harley's Humongous Adventure.

Where abouts? Seems to run just fine on mine. I found out later that the update also allows you to change the clockspeed (the other version had it locked). The default is 300 but you can set it up to 333Mhz which is what I'm using.
Here's my settings:
Engine- PSP accel. + approx. soft.
Smoothing- no
Speed limit switch- yes
Speed limit fps- AUTO
Frameskip- No (auto for games with slowdown)
VSYNC- Yes
I'm using a PSP Slim, so I don't know if it's any different for the Phat. It could also be the MemStick you're using. I've heard some acted slower than others when playing games off of them.
