Is something wrong with me? All of them seem pretty weak, with only the Xbox 360 finally picking up steam well after launch. I was there for the GameCube and Xbox day one.

Same here, dude. Y'know what's hilarious? The last two consoles I got at launch were the DREAMCAST and the

GAMECUBE. :gloomy

I got the Dreamcast, GameCube and Xbox last go around. I think I had more fun overall with the Dreamcast than the latter consoles. GameCube was fun at first, but man did it die a slow, agonizing death. Xbox was a fun console that Microsoft cut way too fucking short. If they keep giving their consoles short lifespans, I'm not going to buy the Xbox1080 or whatever is next.

Well I have a 360, but I dont play it much lol.
-
The only consoles I've ever gotten at launch were... the Dreamcast and N64. :(
Pretty much everything else I've picked up six months to a year after launch, and honestly I think that's the best way. Sometimes there's a price drop, but there's ALWAYS an improved library of games to choose from over the crap that comes at launch, and some of the first and second wave games are budget priced. I like having 3 or 4 quality games for a console when I buy it, which is why I'm probably going to pick up a 360 in the next month or two (Gears, Oblivion, Dead Rising, and GOTY Viva Pinata).

Yeah, I don't like getting a case of Launch Game Syndrome, where I pretend a mediocre title is great just because I want an excuse to futz with my new toy. Wii owners are gonna have that little disease worse than anyone I think, when the novelty of waggle suddenly and magically makes ugly crap games somehow playable to them for a brief period. Some of them were actually trying to justify the purchase of a Nickelodeon-licensed game of GAF!

Luigi's Mansion v2.0
-
This is the first time I've ever purchased a launch console.
-
You're not purchasing a launch console -- you're re-purchasing a Gamecube.
-
DS Lite was the only console I got at launch. Before street date actually. :D I don't think that really counts though.
But I got N64, Dreamcast and Gamecube the first Christmas they were out.
I was spoiled. :-[

I bought a ps2 for 300$, boy do I regret that. :lol
-
I got a Sega CD at launch.
-
Zelda will be the best launch title ever.
