How many eps is in that one piece set?  I was mildly tempted to get it, but I recall hearing that it doesn't get good until like 40 eps in

It's good, but it doesn't get GREAT until 30 eps in.

It's not good until after Zoro joins. It looks really cheaped and washed out too early on. Like they didn't have much of a budget or something.

is there a clip of the voice on youtube?

All I remember from the 4kids one is how bad some characters voices were.  Sanji was terrible.
