How do you like Florence? I was there for about 4 days in 2005. It's probably my favorite city ever.I like it here a lot, but I was just in Sienna yesterday and I think that may be the place to stay and just visit Florence for a few days. I liked Sienna so much because the buildings didn't try to cover up the stone and brick they were built with like they do in Florence, it had a more medieval feel to it. However as for things to see and do Florence is tops plus a lot of the Florentines (begrudgingly) speak English which is nice since my Italian is terrible. My favorite thing about Florence is that one can walk anywhere within the city itself. Sure, south of the Arno is a little far but not too bad. I will totally miss it when I leave.

*looks at the suburban streets of Mississauga, full of strip malls, parking lots, ugly condos, and the same generic stores and restaurants*

I'm glad I askedThanks all for the recommendations. Price isn't too much of a factor, it's not like Florence is all that cheap (Swiss use Euro right?).>:( :swisscry

PS: I am unsure as to whether I will ever be able to eat pizza in America ever again.
not a sports guy? How's Euro fever in Switzerland among the natives? I just read an article it's pretty lackluster in Austria (no football history, shitty team, next to no flags outside, hardly anyone buys any merchandise, recent scandals, introvert Austrians etc)yeah everyone's going batshit here. they all have swiss flags on their cars, there's all kinds of shitty parties, every company is exploiting the euro as a marketing gimmick, yadda yadda yadda.
It was crazy here in Belgium and The Netherlands in the lead up to Euro 2000.
whatever. who cares.
