I'm sure you all know that next year, E3 will not be open to the public, instead becomming more of a show for the industry to work with the games media. This seems to be a big topic on GAF, so I'd love to get my fellow Evilborian's thought on this.
Personally, I'm greatly annoyed by the people who are upset over this. People seem to have this misguided idea that going to E3 was a priveledge; it wasn't. The show wasn't created for that purpose.
Last year's E3 was especially hectic, with people literally running across the floor to get to Nintendo's booth. It's no wonder that the industry wants to get rid of that behavior.
The Big Four are going to be having their own E3-esque shows next year as well (think Spaceworld), and I'm sure they'll be open to the public.

I don't give a shit. I have never gone, nor have I planned on ever going. I think the move is probably smart though. It seems as if it was getting a bit ridiculous. If this means better, more in-depth E3 coverage from the actual games media, it's for the best.

I am glad it is MUCH smaller. It seemed out of control and people not ment to go crowded it up.
Buuut the fact it is moved to July makes the wait for the news harder.

I agree. It was far too large last year. I'm sure Nintendo's show will be open to the public and big enough for its fans. Same with the other publishers.

Er what Nintendo show? Their E3 Press Conference next year? That is never open to the public.

Spaceworld is going to return next year most likely. All four big publishers are going to have their own shows, as well as being at the new E3.

Well Space World was press only during the conferences(most important part, where we saw Zelda, Mario Sunshine, and GCN revealed). Also it was press only on the show floor except for the final day. I doubt they would change this if the show returns.

This just means more shows in Seattle.

Dammit why aren't there any shows in Michigan :(

MS doesn't seem to hold their stuff there and Nintendo does everything important in Japan.

Gramholm is trying to get Google here. Maybe we can have a google...conference? :-\

Ok, so does this essentially mean that, E3 is STILL on, as in we'll still be getting Media and whatnot, its just that regular people won't be able to get in?
I'm cool with that, as long as we still get our Media from it.

We'll get our media and press conferences, just in july. Minus gaffers hands-on impressions and shakey cams.

I have mentioned it multiple times on GAF sir.

On yeah that's right. My bad.
When Demi comes down here in September we should do something together.

I'll just have to try and register the minute they start, that's all.
