Title: I wish to be in Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

Played some of it this morning; tearing myself away from it to go to work was so hard  :'(

lewt got awesome halfway through the second difficulty, and on the first difficulty it was just a challenging game.

Admittedly the loot prior to Immortal Throne was balls.

Nope, the loot IS kinda vanilla until halfway through the second difficulty imo. However, the rather mundane loot kept the challenge pretty high in the first difficulty level. The nicer loot in the next level is kinda required as the bosses and optional bosses are kinda nuts, I didn't far into the last difficulty level, but your character can get pretty obscenely overpowered.

Got my new character to 8 tonight. I've never done an archer type and I rarely stray from the Dream school, so instead I went with the 'Sage' class by going 'Hunter' and then 'Storm'. First difficulty level ill probably focus on the defensive spells in 'Storm' and the offensive stuff in 'Hunter'. Ill be skipping the spear stuff and focusing on the healing remedy and arrow shots.

I'm still playing 2 hours a night.  :lol I have a Harbinger and Ranger both in Legendary now. I've been working on an Oracle who is only level 15 .. but I find him too boring.

TBH, I am very disappointed in the loot on Legendary. Most of my unique drops (blues) are worthless and the purples that drop are often lateral upgrades. It's made it hard for me to zoom through Legendary.

I've spent the last 20 hours doing artifact hunting .. but most of them seem worthless too. Even the Legendary ones don't seem that great.

I would love to go online .. I haven't even done that yet and probably logged in 100 hours on this game since February (when I picked it back up).

Love this game. i was very wrong about it .. it far exceeds D2.

I'm gonna try to convince one of my friends to buy this too. I already mentioned it to him the other day, since I know he loved D2.

Two blues and two greens in an hour! I haven't done an archer type before, but I gotta say its awesome how it can queue up a second target. With a good bow like this blue one:

METAL PUNCH
Req Level 7
20-30 dmg
+23% dmg
+21% piercing dmg
18 armor reduced for 3.0 seconds
+60 health
+2 piercing shot skill

stack that shit with Marksman Shot and Storm Nimbus and omg early game dps! The other blue I got were the Necromancers Leggings, anyone goin spirit?

Started my game tonight and got my character built up to level 6. Game looks great at 1080 with the custom text mod (http://www.titanquest.net/forums/modifications-editor/10646-cognition-mod.html) installed so I can read the game off my TV. Now if only I can find something like that for Rise of Legends.

Title: Re: I wish to be in Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
Post by: MrAngryFace on June 13, 2008, 01:41:31 AM
Well if you go Warfare + Defense you'll be a Conqueror. Or you can go Warfare + Storm you will be a Thane, which still has some defensive options with nimbus but some of the magic dps options which can help late game.

Still, Defense has shield bash and charge, both of which get crazy powerful right away. you'll definitely want to go warfare first if you wanna be a barbarian type. Or you can use Warfare + Dream, and be a Harbinger. Dream is so OP :)

The best defense is a good offense! :)

Defense tree has some decent DPS shield skills, I got through ok as Defense Dream..but Dream can make anything good.

Level 30 now and am in the Orient. Pro tip if you ever play a character with Storm-maxed out "Squall" is ridiculously easy mode at normal, apparently (though I do have some serious elemental damage bonus gear too).

Also, if you are playing through and not getting great blues to drop by act 2, that's ok. Just take your best greens and add a relic, usually they can wind up being better than the blues that drop with the right relic.

I've only gotten a handful of caster blues so far. I got the Epgyptian skirt thing from the second Telkiene and now with my big staff shooting electricity I am like some sort of CRAZY STARGATE WITCH or something.

My only complaint with the game still is how much the Greece act blogs down on that first run through on Normal. Epypt and the Orient are just so much better paced and have better environments.

diablo 2's first act is pretty fun with a lot of interesting places. It's acts 2 and 3 that are all  :yuck awful.

The only memorable part about the first act is the burning olive grove. Unlike Egypt with the awesome cities and pyraminds and crap or the Orient with the great wall, hanging gardens, and terracotta army.

Ramses is the only one I go to, farmed the Act 2 Telkeine like 10 times yesterday to grind up a few levels before hitting Babylon.

Hades is seriously awesome. It's actually an underworld setting that's not full of boring reds and browns.

i have two character builds right now

main pc hosts a "guardian" -- defense + nature
laptop hosts a "battlemage" -- melee + earth

since i am sick, the latter is getting all the attention

neither is optimal since they split the rank up stat gains across strength and int (and a little dex) without focus, but so far, so good

Greece is easily the weakest area of the game.
