WASHINGTON (CNN) – Texas Rep. Ron Paul announced Thursday he is suspending his bid for the Republican presidential nomination to focus his time on building an organization to help recruit and elect “limited government Republicans.”

How much money did his campaign rack up?
If I were a libertarian, I'd be pissed that he didn't use it as seed money for several GOP primary challengers or manage to change the direction of the Republican presidential campaign at all.
Since I'm not a libertarian, I can just chuckle smugly about it.

38 million. Not bad considering he came from nowhere. He said that he is going to use the money to help get libertarian minded candidates elected on a local level.

I guess, but you can't deny that he got more attention and support than anyone could have imagined. I mean he did better than gulianni. Who would have guessed that?
