Isn't demi a pirate who pirates PC games? He's bringing down PC gaming from within and supporting console games.

Yeah, I'm also wondering what he thinks of PC gaming...

Btw, I heard there's a lot of mods for Crysis that make the game look even better.  I remember seeing a texture mod in the GAF thread a long time ago that really looked stunning.  The difference was incredible.  It made the textures look like they had depth (probably parallax mapping?).  Definitely check that stuff out...

And do you like Steam?

Although it is pretty sweet when you switch on your strength booster and knock down a house by punching it.

Once again demi's taste is proved to be on par with the most casual of non-gamers.

Quote from: Crushed's initial Crysis impressions on GAF
oh my god i just drove a pickup truck into a humvee, flipped it over and scared the shit out of a bunch of soldiers, turned invisible and got out of the truck, ran behind the humvee, jumped on top of it, and punched a korean in the face so hard that he died, stole his gun and shot the rest of them to death using the flipped truck as cover, blew up the trucks taking some of them out, got out and proceeded to punch a chicken in the anus, threw the chicken into another chicken, saw some guys behind sandbags and barbed wire, turned invisible and shot them pointblank in the face with shotguns, saw guys running down a mountain to help so i jumped up the entire mountain and threw a grenade right in front of them and blew them all up, then i jumped off the mountain into two more guys, shot one in the face with a shotgun, then grabbed the second one and punched him so hard that he died by hitting a tree ten feet away, which broke in half from the impact

and i accidentally killed a tortoise, i was trying to put it down but it forced me to throw when i went too far into the water, so i jumped up another mountain and created a grave out of hundred-pound metal canisters which i threw off the mountain

holy mother of god this game rules

:bow Jesus Crysis :bow2

And do you like Steam?

Not using steam

I installed KOTOR back, so I could continue my save, and now it's cranked with everything to the max. Runs smooth as silk.

Except for Taris, which would still have frame drops even on the world's most powerful supercomputer powered by 1000 cell processors and 5000 SLI'd Nvidia GTXBEX*@^972934y7101's

Taris is the one you start out on.

I started up an evil play through some months ago and quit just before the Taris race...I gotta get back to that. The game is super addicting when I'm into it.

Mass Effect is garbage, Borys

Mass Effect IS pretty broken. All those pesky gameplay parts.

*Half the classes suck? - Check
*Vehicle segments suck? - Check
*Dialogue trees dont match whats actually said? - Check
*Over-the-Shoulder combat crap is pretty lame, especially if you arent one of the cool classes? - Check
*The only Auto-Save Slot can be deleted? - Check and i'll raise that a what the fuck. Its the ONLY Auto-Save.
*Open Universe full of boring planets, just like real life? - Check

boboobob pretty and teh muzak! omg! generic sci fi snore story!

i was starved of sci-fi rpgs

This is very true.

Which is part of the reason that Star Ocean 4 can't come soon enough.

Don't forget the SHIT SHIT loot and quite meaningless skill system. Not that it mattered, I finished the game in like 4 days straight worth of playing  because it was porn for pulp scifi fans.

At this point Bioware needs to step back and design a good cross platform hack and slash-NO DEEP STORY ALLOWED-to relearn all the lessons of level design, itemization, difficultly skills and character customization. They are almost without peer when it comes to dialogue and character interactions, but it seems like they are getting progressively weaker in implementing actual game mechanics as the years go by.

To be honest? The game isn't "balanced". Not in the way that some powers/weapons are game breaking, but in the way that the game puts so much effort and brilliance into the story and character interaction, and so very little effort into the more gamey aspects like itemization and character building, which are adequate at best. I mean, FFS look at the loot-<itemname> I-VII ? Talk about fucking mailing it in, creating a customizing your character is weak in ME.

It's an uneven experience. If all you want is a pulpy awesome scifi interactive space opera with amazing graphical splendor, and just trudge through the actual gameplay as a means to get to the next step of the "story", I can see how one would rate the game so high. For me, I look at the game a lot like I look at Planescape: Torment-a game that has some very strong vocal fans for whom its extremely strong strengths are the only areas they care about, despite the game not being nearly as good in other areas.
