Just got done watching this. Bale was solid as always.
The story was a little predictable, but probably because I'm very familiar with Fight Club, and the two movies share a lot of central plot points. The visuals in this movie were very stunning, and the 'Ivan' character was one weird motherfucker. What acting and writing there is (and there's very little, since the movie is told centrally by visual cues and the like) is some good stuff.
(I've decided to explain my opinion of movies a little better now, as to not invoke the ready-and-waiting wrath of EB on myself)

Do it, it's a very good movie.

MAYBE I WILL

I sure hope so.

It's a great flick and the director (Brad Anderson) is criminally underrated. He did this and the very creepy Session 9, along with the best Masters of Horror episode thus far, but he's been demoted to television director for the most part. Albeit stuff like The Shield and The Wire, but - c'mon! - this guy deserves some real recognition. He and Wayne Kramer are the two most underrated Hollywood talents, in my opinion.

The direction was very good.
Also, the movie's greatness was amplified by millions when I found out it was filmed in fucking Spain. It looked just like America.

I still can't believe Bale did this role and then immediately packed on like 70-80 lbs for Batman Begins in like, a month and a half.

Awesome movie. This was the movie that made me a Bale fan.
-
Bale rocks but you should just skip this and go straight to Harsh Times, much better film

I want to see this movie for years now, never got around to it.
