I felt the need to lay Mr. President down gain - and watch those creepy ass PAtriot codecs at the end.
The game looks focking amazing on my 60 GB launch PS3.
Getting the dog tags feels so natural as if I just did it yesterday.
Im just about done with the Tanker mission - love the music in this game.
Do you like this game? When is the last time you played thru it?
-
I played the first three MGS games a few months ago to prepare for 4. I am glad I did.
And I really like the game. I don't now if I can go back after playing with MGS4s far superior controls, but I will replay it again in the future.
-
I liked it but I played it after 3 so the lack of CQC felt so horribly constraining.

LOVE it. Just a hair below MGS1 for my favorite in the series (and both are quite far ahead of 3 and 4 in my eyes). Last time I played it was a few months ago. I pretty much play through it yearly.

I played it for the first time not that long ago, and it was a joy to playthrough. So much fun, even if some moments (FREEZE C4) were a bit annoying. MGS1 is my favorite in the series though.
-
I also replayed it last month, and it was still fun, but MGS3 is still my favorite in the series.
-
Played all the way through it immediately after its release. The ending went so far off the rails on a crazy train that I really was left not liking it that much. Nevertheless, I bought the substance version when it came out and tried to go through it again. Made it through the tanker (still love that), quit like an hour after starting big shell. I just fucking hate Raiden and his whiny bullshit. Thank god Kojima actually spent some effort to make his character kick some ass in MGS4. If I'd been given MGS2 Raiden again in MGS4, I'd have hated him even more.
It's clearly the weakest MGS when seen from the perspective of the whole series.

Mr. President is the most awesome MGS boss ever....fight him in the harrier....then later fight him with the swords....
its legendary...
I always imagine that the PResident in MEtal Wolf is Solidus ;)

I really need to play this; only played through the beginning Tanker Chapter and then lost interest. Actually I really need to play the entire MGS series. The original and Integral are the only versions I played all the way through. I'm about halfway done in MGS3 Subsistence and close (I think) to finishing Portable Ops. Twin Snakes is also sitting on my shelf.
Part of me wants to hold off on MGS4 until I at least finish MGS3, but I don't know if I can do it.
-
Definitely hold off if you're that far into 3.
-
I loved the wacky story.
-
I said "fuck it" in regards to Portable Ops before starting MGS4. I'll finish it later this summer, I guess.

PO isn't as necessary as 3 is. As it is, its a side story that might flesh out motivations better but its ultimately ignored.

I don't mind Portable Ops' control...you just need to get used to holding down the L button and square button together to go into third-person "auto-aim," make use of the d-pad for strafing, and you're good to go.
The boss battle with Python had me stuck for the longest time though. I think it took me well over a year to finally beat it, which was last sunday night on a train ride home. For some reason it never hit me to give the other members in my squad better weapons and health packs. :lol Got Python to join the team too!

Fuck the haters. MGS2 was my intro to the series, and now it's my favorite series in gaming. Even with the confusing story that everyone bitches about. For me, it just showed me that someone was actually thinking about putting more than just a paper thin plot in the game to accompany the motions of killing/completing missions, and that was something that I really appreciated.
I even liked the voice acting, especially after the game was done. Honestly, it's voiced better than the majority of the animes I was trying to struggle through at the time (which I gave up trying to watch eventually)
-
MGS2 was so great that it killed any interest I had in the series!
:bow MGS2 :bow2
-
DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS TODAY lol
two timing bitch. I knew she was no good the minute I saw her in 2 and she started up with "u know whut day it is? why you kill that guy jack!"
-
I loved Raiden. This is probably because I was spoiled about Raiden so I had time to prepare for his great homosexuality. :supergay
Too bad Vista's new wonky sound scheme won't let the PC version of this game run.

Whole game was pretty mediocre until the moments before you entered Arsenal Gear. That last part, and mostly the ending scenes, made the game. I was spazzing it out of sheer awesomeness and I think a few drops of cum came out of the tip of my penis after the credits when that huge spoiler about the Patriots was revealed.

MGS2 was the first game I got with my PS2 back in Christmas of 2001, along with FFX and DMC1. I loved the tanker chapter at the beginning, of course, the interactivity in that section was unprecedented at the time... shooting watermelons and glass bottles and watching them explode, blowing up the fire extinguisher and watching sensor lasers appear in the thick of the smoke, etc. But then, you get to the Big Shell and the environments just look so dull. Gameplay-wise, I find the majority of the game to be the weakest of the series. A lot of the "puzzles" and scenarios seem to be retreads of MGS1, like maneuvering the missile over the electric floor, or just plain boring, like shooting the hidden C4 packets. But the story, I couldn't stop playing, I think the whole Arsenal Gear scene up till the end of the game was the most disturbing and confusing part in all of gaming's history. "I NEED SCISSORS! 61!". Is there anywhere we can see what was cut out between the Ray battle and the Solidus battle, where the Arsenal Gear crashes along the coast of NYC and into Federal Hall?
Oh yeah here's a question about the whole MGS series: WTF does "Kuwabara Kuwabara" mean?

Someone hasn't been paying attention to the storyline ;)

the worst thing about this game is snakes 'shinobi' like bandanna tail flying behind him like a kite.
raiden >> snake
-
The worst thing is Snake's beard and mullet.
