Quote
Burger Bling: $200 Burger Ruffling Feathers

Burger chef Mark Dowding said the formula is simple.

"Like any good food you start out with great ingredients," Dowding said.

Or most expensive. Check this out. The burger's ingredients include the following: Japanese wagyu beef, white truffles, onions fried in Cristal champagne, topped with pink Himalayan rock salt. :japancry

They even sold a few, with one Burger King employee saying how a couple split the bill.

Now of course, if you're dropping the better part of $200 on a burger, you don't really want to be washing it down with any old soft drink, which is why if you're eating in you get a complimentary glass of wine.

"Well, that would probably make the burger go down easier, right?" said Walter Nasdeo of New York.

I think I'd go for a Whopper meal instead.

I want one

Wagyu beef :hyper :hyper :hyper
It doesn't really have anything to do with Japafaggotry, Wagyu is typically considered the best beef in the world.

Yeah, it is seriously delicious.

And I applaud them for not doing anything stupid to increase the cost like putting gold flakes on it or dumb shit that other crazy expensive foods do.

American Wagyu?  There is a huuuuge difference.

It's probably American wagyu.

I had Kobe beef in Miyajima. Oh my God, it was the best beef I've ever had.

Beer and massaging the cows.

If vegetarians feel bad for eating these cows, they are idiots.

They feed the cows all kinds of crazy shit, and massage them daily to get a particular type of marbling.

and then kill them with ninja swords

For $200, I could buy 10 awesome wagyu steaks, or 5-7 in a restaurant. The elevation of the burger (and the pizza) to cuisine status is getting frankly ridiculous. Here's a tip - beef tastes better WITHOUT the breadcrumbs etc. you put in to make it easy for little kids to eat with milk teeth. I love burgers as much as anyone but jeez...steak >>>>> burgers.

Obviously.

Steak feels like you are eating another animal.  Hamburger feels like you could be eating another animal, but you aren't sure what part or that it is an animal at all.  There is a reason you always go for the drumstick with chicken.

I also prefer steak, but I really love any sort of beef. This topic made me hungry.

I gotta get over to Japan and try some wagyu beef... sounds SOOO good. No point in spending $200 on a burger and I'm a bit of a foodie. Do you get the $1000 sundae from Serendipity 3 in NY for dessert ? (http://www.serendipity3.com/food.htm (http://www.serendipity3.com/food.htm))

Not worth it.  Especially because the Humble pie is the best thing they have.

Yeah, but you would need to take a flight over there first.  Burger King knows its lazy audience wouldn't do such a thing.
