I think I spent most of  summer 06 listening to Behind the Wheel over and over again.

wow that's so weird because i re-discovered that song and i would mix it in with some old 80s electro and then use it to segue into 80s dance rock like Duran Duran

so it would go Planet Rock, Egyptian Lover, Behind the Wheel, Hungry Like the Wolf then i would nearly always go to Blondie's Atomic then from there you're free to go anywhere.

I'd try to fit Grace Jones's cover of Love is the Drug in there.  Also great very new wavy electronic shtuff

Plus it has a bitchin video

grace jones always looks like mc hammer passed out a party early and people put make up on him to fuck with him

however, that is a great cover and very 80s video

We were joking about it the other week, but I grabbed the well-ranked Grace Jones albums, and they are all generally pretty good stuff.  I'd really recommend them if you like the era.  I'm starting to really get into the 80s electronic stuff, including the new wavy stuff.  I mean, I always liked the sound, but I'm really digging it now.  I used to like the Kraut 70s electronic stuff better, but it's shifting.  I even like comparing the later Kraftwerk stuff to the earlier Kraftwerk stuff--the evolution from their 70s to 80s sound.

I already listen to some industrial.  If you want to recommend anything, please do so. Einsturzende and Cabaret Voltaire are my favorites.  And Laibach, kinda, but they are like a distant third.

i couldn't really get into laibach

i "got it" but i didn't like it

however, their cover of Jesus Christ Super Star is kind of miraculous

let me see what i have that i can recommend

You see, I got into Laibach via the Let it Be and Sympathy for the Devil and Jesus Christ Superstar shit.  My brother seriously liked them, and of course their cover records stuck out for me as recognizable.  That's why I put the "kinda" in there, because I think my like of them is at least partially ironic, although that Jesus Christ Superstar cover is brilliant.
