I really like what I'm seeing - it looks pretty smooth and polished thus far.

I have high hopes for this game, but one of those videos shows some really suspect gameplay. I don't expect mutated hellbeasts to be particularly bright, but there's no impact even when they come right up to the protagonist. Looks odd.

The graphics and overall mood of the game look really good, though I wasn't too worried about those elements. The gameplay looks a bit run-and-gun in some parts, but others, like shooting off the exploding part of one alien and uses it as a grenade against the others or being able to walk on the walls and ceilings and the gravity gun things look pretty good.
I'll still wait for the reviews before I get it, but I think this one is going to be pretty good.

Is this the game with the next-gen pause system?

You mean how they don't really seem to hit him even when they're right next to him?

Sweet. I was thinking it may be related to the build, but I'm not technical so wasn't very certain of my opinion.

Eh, looks decent. I like the actual appearance of the environment and the atmopshere seems like it could be really good, but they are doing exactly what I had hoped they would not and are throwing tons of cloned enemies at the player in a short period of time. I think the game would be much more interesting if enemy encounters were rare, more difficult, and possible to avoid. That is, I would have liked to have seen enemies that actually explore the environment. They could certainly create scenes where enemy encounters are intended to occur, but I think less scripted scenarios would aid the atmosphere greatly. When AI is immediately aware of the player and have only the goal of killing the player, each encounter becomes much less interesting. If you know that an AI is out there moving through the ship unaware of your presence (unless you trigger the attention) I think it would become a more intense experience.
Of course, this is just some random scene in the game and we really can't yet say how it will play out.

Are the weapon(s) upgradable in this game? From those videos, it looks like there is a single weapon with different mods.
-
It looks more like a run and gun than a space thriller. I may rent it.

From what they have said, this is going to be classic survival horror.
As they said in a previous interview: "you can go 20 minutes without an encounter yet still be scared shitless". If that turns out to be the case, these videos are obviously not focusing on the "shit yourself while you're alone" parts.
